No one will accuse Jackson of having or pretty shot or being a smooth ball handler, but the guy is willing to take those last second shots.  It was smart too, since he had towel boy guarding him.  Encouraged by what I saw of Nigel.

How about the rebounding from the guard position?  Bucky is going to struggle to outrebound a lot of teams, but it ain't for lack of trying from the ball handlers.

Nice write up by Luke Winn in his power rankings today:

While we're on the topic of guards outrebounding frontcourts, the Badgers are in a similar (albeit much less dire) situation. Starting guards Treveon Jackson, Ben Brust and Josh Gasser have combined for 33 rebounds in wins over St. John's and Florida, while their top three forwards, Sam Dekker, Frank Kaminsky and Duje Dukan, have combined for 21 boards. Wisconsin has long been a proponent of inversion in the swing offense, and now it's also inverting backcourt/frontcourt roles on the glass. It has yet to be a problem, though, as UW is the only team in the Power Rankings that already has two victories over potential NCAA tournament teams. With the potential champs of the Horizon League (Green Bay), Southland Conference (Oral Roberts), OVC (Eastern Kentucky), Atlantic 10 (St. Louis) and Big East (Marquette) left on their non-conference schedule, plus a trip to Virginia, the Badgers have the chance to build a legit NCAA tournament resume before the New Year.

Next three: 11/16 at Green Bay, 11/19 vs. North Dakota, 11/21 vs. Bowling Green

I think they beat Marquette this year.

That could be the case because it's like the roles are reversed with the rosters.   Usually, it's been Marquette that has better guards while the Badgers frontcourt has had the upper hand but not this year.  Marquette actually looks more like the Badgers have in the past- a very good frontcourt but either unproven or mediocre guard play.

I fully expect both teams to be in the tournament but right now I'd give the edge to Wisconsin because Jackson, Brust, and Gasser are simply better than the Marquette guys at this point.  Maybe later in the year that will change but not sure it will now.
