Great news on Pennamon.

I don't know if it means anything, but Scout.com had moved Rand to "soft verbal" status after his UCLA visit but today have removed that and lists him as a "verbal."  I couldn't find an article anywhere with any announcement and there is nothing on his twitter page, but someone at Scout.com must have gotten word that his commitment to Bucky is solid.

If no further commits/decommits happen than the last scholarship move was Caesar Williams taking that 25th spot which occurred on January 27.  That's probably the earliest the Badgers have been done in a long, long time.

Coach Chryst and the rest of the staff did a magnificent job keeping this group together following the loss of Aranda.

Per the Arizona Republic (and linked by Madison.com), Rand will fax his LOI to Wisconsin tomorrow morning.

I agree with you, Joe.  The coaches did a great job keeping this class together and hopefully there will be no negative surprises tomorrow.

On another note, JSOnline is reporting that the Board of Regents is meeting on the deals of three football coaches.  I assume it is for pay bumps for Chryst, Rudolph and, perhaps, Wilcox's contract.  Guess we will find out later.

Go Bucky!

I still think it is crazy guys who meet NCAA requirements can't play ball at Wisconsin, but compared to last years debacle where every kid turned out to not have enough to enroll, this process seemed slightly more desirable

From SI:

TOTAL COMMITS: 26
FIVE STARS: 0
FOUR STARS: 4
POINTS: 2,518
Top recruit: OT Cole Van Lanen

The Badgers are always in the mix in the Big Ten West, and this class should help them continue that trend in the future. Coach Paul Chryst signed some impressive talent in the trenches, including four-star offensive tackle Cole Van Lanen and four-star defensive tackle Garrett Rand. Wisconsin also signed one of the faster tailbacks in 2016; Sam Brodner, a product of Glen Illyn, Ill., is clocked as having run a 4.49-second 40-yard das

 This guy looks mean.

Kasl is listed as the No. 1 offensive tackle in Minnesota, according to Scout.com, and was named first-team all-state by the Associated Press his senior year. He also was credited with more than 50 pancake blocks in his final high school season.

I don't know if he looks mean, but he certainly is mean. Apparently, his team lost every one of their games when he was in high school. I can see why, looking at the video. Kasl is creating these massive holes pancaking his man, yet no one can find that hole. One of the few times the runner found the hole, the guy fumbled the ball. LOL!

Looks like he took it out on the other team for all those beating by pounding his man into submission.

If I'm not mistaken, That's the same time Melvin Gordon had in high school. Glenbard West was the undefeated state champion and he was named IL player of the year. He got a lot less fanfare around here than Justin Jackson (now at Northwestern) at Glenbard North.

The kid can fly. Looking forward to seeing him in action.

Heard on the radio today that Matt Van dan Boom's son will be a preferred walk on in 2017. He turned down scholarships at Eastern Michigan, South Dakota State and North Dakota to try out for the Badgers.
