Manager Terry Francona said Sunday morning that right-hander Shaun Marcum will start Wednesday against the White Sox and rookie left-hander Carlos Rodon at U.S. Cellular Field.

Marcum, with the exception of one five-inning relief appearance with the Indians on April 12 against Detroit, has spent the season at Class AAA Columbus where he's gone 4-0 with a 1.36 ERA in five starts. This will be Marcum's first start in the big leagues since July 6, 2013 with the Mets.

All Randy Wolf wanted was 10 minutes of a team’s time. Just a quick tryout on a bullpen mound somewhere, anywhere. I’ll come to you, he said.

Doug Melvin's expert pitching evaluation at work once again.  Gallardo and Estrada have combined for 160+ innings, a 3.19 ERA and 1.16 WHIP so far this season.

Gallardo probably had to go.  The only question is if it would be better to trade him during the off-season or closer to the trade deadline.  As usual, the Brewer's guessed wrong as Gallardo has definitely increased his value.  But hey, that Gallardo trade freed up all that money so they could sign thug Rodriguez.  Small market 27-46 teams can never have enough 13 million dollar bullpen investments.

At least Lind is a good player.  I'm surprised Melvin didn't trade Estrada for Kevin Mench II.
