Agree with EKG. I'm not against GB picking a RB but not in the 1st round. Even a second round pick would be pushing it for me. Fixing the O line should be job one for the offense and getting Sherrod and Bulaga healthy will go a long ways accomplishing that goal. I also think getting a mauler at center would be a plus.

You said it yourself, no RB would find much success with the OL GB had last night.

I like where this team is headed and think they are not as far away as some people think they are.

I agree that Lacey and Ball would be good additions but I think they need to get stronger in the middle of the defense and on the OL. You can't have #12 keep getting sacked 50+ times a year or continuously getting gashed against the run.

As long as he comes back 100% from his injury, there is nothing saying he can't be a very good LT. He was a first round pick and played well at RT last year before his injury. More than anything though was how much he improved from training camp to the regular season.

The injury, however, is the question mark. This could be one of those injuries that ruins a career. Maybe he'll still play, but he may never get back to where he was athletically before his injury.

Yes, no Center but RB should be a higher priority. I'm guessing you could find a solid RB in 3rd or 4th round if you shore up the middle of the oline (and get a new oline coach).

Nobody runs behind a **** oline.
pardon me for this:

feels like I've posted this before and pretty much everyone else on the board has too

COULD WE GET A NEW FRIGGIN OLINE COACH

Survey says EDS is your starter next year at center with a development guy or the ever popular juggling o line in preseason with a Lang/EDS center battle and a Barclay/Lang/Sherrod LG battle and a Bulaga/Barclay RT battle and a Sherrod/Newhouse LT battle and they all play three snaps here and three snaps there and we all pontificate on what the best five will be for the 9th consecutive training camp and where this guy will end up when this guy gets hurt and so on and so forth. Meanwhile other teams put the guys where they naturally belong and let the chips fall where they may while the Packers set up for disaster and dick around with the line endlessly yet somehow never seem to get it right on opening day...hallelujah...holy sh!t

(just needed to get that out...ahhhh)
The development on the oline is about as good as having no oline coach at all. Newhouse is the epitome of the guy that has the pedigree and most of the tools. What he brought to the team is what has kept him in the game as a average LT. I have no doubt that if he worked with a capable oline coach he could be well above average.

EDS? Can you really say he developed when he's a one trick pony? Lang and Sitton picking up the slack for weak center position surely showed in their performance this year. Sitton is a freaking pro-bowler and Lang is an above average LG but that sure didn't show. Get a legit center with a dedicated oline coach to a dedicated oline scheme and the offense immediately pulls it's own weight if not making up for defensive deficiencies as well.
