Practice notes: Looks like Lang, Wells
GBPG.COM

It sure looks like the Packers will start the same offensive line group that played last week against the Browns.

That means rookie T.J. Lang will make his second straight start at left tackle, and Scott Wells goes at center.

Veteran left tackle Chad Clifton participated in practice, but Lang appeared to get the bulk of the work with the starters. Center Jason Spitz, who has been dealing with a lower back injury since the first meeting with the *******, was nowhere to be seen inside the Don Hutson Center.

Also not practicing were: safety Derrick Martin (hamstring), fullback Korey Hall (calf), receiver Jordy Nelson (knee) and tight end Jermichael Finley (knee).

Coach Mike McCarthy will update the injuries at about 12:15 p.m

Injury report:

Here's the Packers' official injury report:

Chad Clifton, T Ankle Full Participation Questionable
Jermichael Finley, TE Knee Did Not Participate Doubtful
Korey Hall, FB Calf Out
Derrick Martin, S Hamstring Limited Participation Questionable
Clay Matthews, LB Jaw Full Participation Probable
Jordy Nelson, WR Knee Out
Aaron Rodgers, QB Foot Full Participation Probable
Josh Sitton, G Hand Full Participation Probable
Jason Spitz, C/G Back Did Not Participate Doubtful
Mark Tauscher, T Knee Full Participation Probable
Charles Woodson, CB Hip Full Participation Probable
Jarius Wynn, DE Hamstring Limited Participation Questionable

McCarthy:

"Finley will work out tomorrow, he's making a lot of progress."

on the O-line: "I have some options. Clifton practiced, Tauscher had a full week. Just take in all the information and make a decision tomorrow night. I'm not going to get into starting lineups."

Green: "I think he'll have a chance to contribute. You do worry because he hasn't had live action this year."

β€’S Derrick Martin (hamstring) returned to practice.

β€’CB Charles Woodson did participate, as did DE Jarius Wynn.

β€’OT Mark Tauscher continued to practice fully.

Finley is probably a long shot and you want to ensure the guy will be healthy for the long haul, but still encouraging to see he's making steady progress.

Welcome back Tausch/Green. These guys are nice insurance policies to have.

yeah, any other situation Id hold him out, but based on the way he torched the Queens last time, youve got to get him in there no matter the risk.
Remember Lee dropped a crucial TD pass.

Besides all the BF drama, this game is absolutely huge. All hands on deck

I really (stupidly) believe they're doing all they can to have him ready for the game, lord knows there is a spot open for offense.. In the end you're probably right tho.. Just like I want to believe Capers talking about playing it safe is a smokescreen while yet it might not be a bad idea *shrugs*

My heart sank when Finley went down.
******* week: Friday update/injury report
By Greg A. Bedard of the Journal Sentinel

Green Bay - Here's the final injury report of the week for both teams:

Packers

β€’Out: FB Korey Hall, WR Jordy Nelson.
β€’Doubtful: TE Jermichael Finley, C Jason Spitz.
β€’Questionable: LT Chad Clifton, S Derrick Martin, DE Jarius Wynn.
β€’Probable: LB Clay Matthews, QB Aaron Rodgers, G Josh Sitton, OT Mark Tauscher, CB Charles Woodson.
*******

β€’Out: CB Antoine Winfield (foot).
β€’Questionable: WR Percy Harvin (illness)
, WR Bernard Berrian (hamstring), LB Jasper Brinkley (hamstring), WR Darius Reynaud (hamstring).
β€’Probable: QB Brett Favre (hip), LB E.J. Henderson (knee), LB Ben Leber (calf), FB Naufahu Tahi (knee), CB Karl Paymah (quad).
Notes

β€’Coach Mike McCarthy has not ruled Finley out for this game yet. "He's definitely improving. (We'll) work him out Sunday. If he can clear one of the tests tomorrow he'll be a pre-game workout candidate. If he doesn't come out of his rehab tomorrow, the session they put him through, then obviously he'll be down."
β€’Packers "have some options" when it comes to the offensive line with Clifton practicing today. McCarthy wouldn't reveal which way he's leaning.

β€’RB Ahman Green has "a very good chance" of being active: "I think he'll have a chance to contribute. He looks good. You do worry, he hasn't been in live action this year. That's a concern, no question about it. But we have history with Ahman, and there's history between Ahman and his position coach Edgar Bennett, so we're going to rely on that to make some decisions." Green could help as a returner.

Migraines must still be bothering Percy. Looks more and more like this is something that the Vikes will need to deal with and timing on these flare ups will be key. Me thinks had we played Wed or Thurs he would have been out. Unfortunately for Harvin, they can come up at anytime it seems.

LOL, no way he plays. I know that now. MM loves to play games with the injury list. Chilly and anti-worst should be really pissed.

I AM pissed!!! Mad And when Chilly was giving me a ride down to the Piggly Wiggly, he told me he was pissed too.

I don't think this is really a game by him this time,I think he see's a weakness in the Viking secondary, and he wants all of his weapons for this game.

I totally agree..... he really wants him out there, and is giving him as much time as possible to see if he can get it done. I be you anywhere between 70% and higher, he'll play....

I wonder what will happen with Harvin and his migraines once he gets a few NFL concussions under his belt. I think it was Donald Driver or Greg Jennings who recently commented about how every player gets a concussion at one time or another.

I agree. Although I think Finley is a long shot, we've lost our #4 and #5 WRs for this game and Finley is a TE that can make WR plays. Losing Nelson and Finley has to limit MM's playbook for this game. The is the one game the Packers really need to open up with a solid running attack.
