Jenkins looks good to go
Posted by Rob Demovsky January 7th, 2011, 11:31 am
Packers defensive end Cullen Jenkins practiced for the third straight day and barring a last minute setback, he should be good to go for the Packers in Sunday’s NFC wild-card game at Philadelphia.
Jenkins likely will be on a snap count or limited to certain defensive packages (most likely the nickel), but he appears on track to play for the first time since he reinjured his troublesome calf on Dec. 5 against San Francisco. He missed the last four games of the regular season.
UPDATE: Officially he was listed as questionable (see below).
The news doesn’t appear to be as good for the trio of safety Atari Bigby (groin), fullback Korey Hall (knee) and linebacker Frank Zombo (knee). None was able to practice again on Friday.
This was the final practice before the team leaves for Philadelphia tomorrow afternoon.
We’ll have the last update of the week from coach Mike McCarthy in about an hour. Check back then for the full injury report.
UPDATE (12:30 p.m.): Here’s the full injury report.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy comments:
on Jenkins: “He had two good days of practice, rested him today, hoping he’ll go. Best to back off today. Everything’s been positive.”
on practice this week: “It’s been excellent. Seems to go a little long cuz everyone’s excited to play the game. Outside yesterday, inside today at 28 degrees inside the Hutson Center.”
on being close at all with Zombo this week: “He’s not quite ready. Project out on Frank, next week he has a chance.”
MM said the referee for this game is Pete Morelli. Had his crew in Atlanta.
