I think it would be cool to move the draft around.  Having it in the smallest NFL city like Green Bay would be a boom to the local businesses. But, they would probably go with larger cities like Dallas, Chicago, Philly, etc.  I would like to see Green Bay campaign hard for this.  It would give those who haven't been to Green Bay a chance to visit Lambeau Field, the Packer Hall of Fame, etc.

they turned the draft into a circus and of course it will be a traveling one.

and I still won't watch, attend or care other than to watch a draft tracker online and see who's name pops up behind Green Bay Packers.

They have a venue that is actually larger then Radio City Music Hall:

Count Green Bay mayor Jim Schmitt in. On Thursday, Schmitt made it clear that he'd love for the NFL Draft to come to Green Bay, Wis. -- and he believes the city could handle the event.

"We’re going to be all over this," Schmitt said by phone. "We’re going to do whatever we can to make this a reality.”

The realistic venue to him would be the Resch Center, located across the street from Lambeau Field. The Resch, which hosts the UW-Green Bay men's basketball games, the USHL's Green Bay Gamblers and various concerts, has a capacity of 9,877. The Radio City Music Hall currently holds 6,015.

This is probably something the NFL would throw a bone to and give to GB. It's no where near the hotel capacity you would need to host a SB. If weather cooperates, yes I think GB could pull it off.

The Bar on Holmgren Way.

Just a guess, but I would think the Resch would probably do the draft "concert style". You would have your elevated seating etc that people would want.

But remember, the NFL really couldn't give a shi* less about the building it's held in. It's all about and always be about how many tune in. $$$$ baby.

ESPN/NFLN would beat to death the story of having the draft at the Frozen Tundra.

Green Bay should be a lock for the draft if the NFL wants to market this. The stadium is right next to the Resch. Plenty of hotels withinn a 40 mile radius, the drive time is far less from the hotels to the draft than a big city.

I guess I don't understand.  What if they drafted a gay Asian to play OL?  Would Oprah like that or would we need to make sure he was a Muslim?

About 3-4 years ago I posted the idea of moving around the Draft.  I get so sick of those NY fans...especially loud-mouth boorish guys cheering on the Jets.  Then you toss in some of the Philly clowns and it was too much sometimes.

Anyways, my original thought was to have the Draft circulate through 5-6 NFL cities.  ie., NY, Chicago, Atlanta, Denver, San Fran and maybe Dallas.  This way regionally fans would be able to travel shorter distances to attend the Draft.

Ideally, the draft could be held at Lambeu, but I suppose that's a bit of overkill, to say the least. Not to mention I doubt the NFL would gamble on fair weather.

But everything is in place to handle an event of that size in GB without breaking a sweat, and they should be given as much consideration as any city.

You want an all time draft?  Have Roger walk out of the back room to pump 6 to announce the picks at any of the Fox Valley Kwik Trips huffing on a marb.

I'll bet it wouldn't take 3 days either.

Why not Lambeau Field?  If all the league cares about is $$, 80,000 fans who paid to get in would check that box.  Then, at this time of the year, you could catch a draft at the NFL draft.  Attendance at the following Packer minicamp might be down while everyone recovers, but you can't have everything.

As for me, the draft is an opportunity for my cousin and I to get together for a couple days.  One time we went to EAA on Friday, another time we went to a Brewers game, things like that while waiting for the draft times to begin that day.  So no matter where it occurs, as long as it is televised, I am good.

Green Bay is the only acceptable alternative to New York. Maybe Chicago. Rush street. New Orleans is a slim possibility.

If they put it in Indianapolis or Dallas or LA or anywhere else, we're probably done going to the draft.

Part of me thinks it would be a great way to "throw a bone" to the markets where they don't want to host a Super Bowl too. Green Bay, Buffalo, Seattle, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Philly, Cleveland, etc.

Good idea. I bet none of the networks, and especially not Chris Berman, would do any sort of tacky gambling comparisons dozens of times throughout the telecast.
