Jesus ****....we won the superbowl two years ago.

Atlanta has squeeked out one playoff win in the great career of Julieo Jones

Now atlanta is the ****ing blueprint.

Maybe we just need to do things the viking way
No way. Jones had a great half, but he's disappeared in the second half (0 points for Atlanta). It's too easy to take away 1 player, especially a WR.

The only time you give up an entire draft for 1 player is if you are 110% it's for a franchise QB. No other position is worth it.
How's that trade looking now for Atlanta?

Look at how many holes are on that D. Did Kaperdick get pressured once? Could anyone even come close to covering either Zach Miller or Vernon Davis?

They gave up a lot for Julio Jones. And still no SB.
Copernicus was sacked once and had the guy in his face another time (15yd flag). For the most part, ATL had the middle clogged up with good lane discipline. Gore still got his yards but boy, it sure beats seeing CK run for 2 bills.

Exactly. Atlanta has 1 pass rusher and unless he's at 100%, they have no pass rush.

So Atlanta gave up 2 firsts and a second rounder for Julio Jones (ignoring the swap of fourths, just to keep it simple). Obviously hindsight is 20/20, but they could have had the following instead of Julio Jones:
-Muhammed Wilkerson
-Torrey Smith or Randall Cobb
-Whitney Mercilus

I mean, can you imagine how good Atlanta could be if they had Wilkerson, Smith/Cobb, and Mercilus? Granted you need to make the right picks, but even hitting on two of those picks is arguably better for Atlanta.

Look, I'm not suggesting the deal was a good move or even necessary. And I'd say more often than not, this type of deal doesn't work out. They "went for it" and time will tell if it was the right move. Jones looks like a player...but at what cost?

I agree with you 100% here!

If there was one like Julio Jones, would you do it? Would it take the Pack over the hump?

Did it get Atlanta over the hump? No...

I want to see TT draft some tough-nosed MFer's to play the middle of the field on both sides of the ball.
Unless it's a franchise QB, no way.

Are you going to trade....

Josh Sitton, Randall Cobb, J-Finley, Mason Crosby, Bryan Bulaga

for...

Julio Jones?

(obviously not the same draft but different rounds)

Sorry, he's just not worth that much & I don't care what he did yesterday vs. the Niners.

exactly, I swear some Packer fans really miss drafting in the top 10

the NFL needs to address that BS call too. I get it. They want to protect the QB's head, it's off limits. But a guy swiping his hand past the front of the QB's face and his follow through slightly bumps the facemask... I can't believe that was the intent of the rule.

But wouldn't it be cool if it was Quinn Johnson, Jamon Meredith, Jarius Wynn and Brandon Underwood?

That being siad, not a fan of the Ditka approach but what is the threshold? Exchange your first plus two more picks to move into the top 10 for a dude you think is a stud?

TT has done it once before to get C3TO so he has it in him.
I'd probably never pull the trigger on that kind of deal if I was a GM, but then again I still haven't gotten any front office offers following my 9-5 fantasy season.

If you make that move, I agree with Boris that it has to be for a QB. Calvin Johnson may well end up the greatest receiver of all time, and look what that gets you. How was the hope that Julio comes even close to that worth two drafts? And the Ditka-Ricky trade is even more hilarious in hindsight now that the RB position is valued somewhere between kicker and ball boy.

The jury is still out on the RGIII trade, but it will be tough to fault WAS if he keeps at this pace.
I don't blame Washington for that trade, Griffin was a stud prospect at the most important position and also seemed to be fairly "safe" from the aspect of being a good kid as well as a good player.

I wouldn't be opposed to Green Bay making a move up around 5-10 spots, I would have liked to see them move on Ingram (and later Reyes) last year when he made it as far as he did or even Shea Mc. But giving up a huge deal for a non-QB is madness when you have as many holes to fill as the Packers do.
