It's not the RB...it's the OL. That's why they can plug and play RB.

Just like the Niners DL allows them some liberties as to the type of LBs they can plug in. All of a sudden, Devondre Campbell looks a bit better.

The Niners haven't won a Super Bowl, but they have Hall of Fame level players on the OL and DL, which is why they have been to a couple of Super Bowls. Trent Williams at LT. Nick Bosa on the DL.

The model works because they have been able to pay the OL and DL guys bigger money and make it work previously by having rookie contracts for their skill position players on offense. Now that they have to pay Aiyuk, Samuel, and potentially Purdy, let's see if they can sustain it.

Rodgers still has the prettiest balls in the league but he's basically a statue now.  He looked slow on his feet even before he got injured and he looks even slower now.  Luckily for him his arm is unmatched.

Put Rodgers behind the SF or Eagles offensive line and he'd look like vintage Rodgers.

Peak Rodgers made a good line look elite - just like Mahomes makes his line look better than it really is every year.

Elite OLs make guys like good QBs Purdy and Hurts look great.

Not a huge fan of Kyle Shanahan personally...but as a coach, he always has his teams ready...early in the season, in the playoffs.

Yes he's 0-2 in the Super Bowl...but against one of the all time greats in Mahomes.

I envy that with the 49ers, and think back to my initial feelings on MLF from season one...does he have enough asshole in him to be a HC in the NFL that wins the big games?

I've heard the excuses from Packer fans and non-Packer fans about the first game of the season really is like the 4th pre-season game...teams are not as sharp as they will by in October.

49ers looked pretty fucking sharp to me, without their best weapon too. Niners always seem to have great OL and DL, not matter who the coordinators or position coaches are.

Packers DL has been invested in...it's not a lack of talent there. I will give the D a pass on game one...it's a new system. We saw turnovers...3 turnovers is enough to tilt the scale to a win for the team. The offense shit things up...dropped passes, poor run blocking...that is 100% MLF's purview.

It was surprising how SF manhandled the Jets defense at times.

Also at how open some of SF's routes were getting in the secondary.  Gardener was out but they weren't playing with 10 guys.

The other thing I read about the 9ers this morning is they are getting very good production from late round and undrafted players. Similar to Gutey, they are finding good players late on day 3 of the draft and undrafted guys.

Rodgers looked sharp on first drive but his age is showing.  Not mobile as the younger guys and will not be able to escape and make plays as much as he used to.    That will catch up over the season

They played Purdy and started him in Pre-season game #3 without the top skill guys. Played him for most of the first half. I don't think any other team played their starting QB in Game #3.

I wonder why the Niners did that? We both know why....
