An interesting read. Once again, TT and his staff unearth a player with focus.

That's an exact replica of Henry's 1977 prom date...everybody wanted her after the Miss Patosi "Catfish Queen"' crowning that summer.
Good test for the rookie tonight. Robert Quinn is a beast. 11 sacks last year. Good test overall for the revamped line. The Rams have 4 solid DL's.
It wouldn't surprise me to see Newhouse and Barclay swap plays/series to see which one is better at dealing with Chris Long. Have to assume Bakhtiari will get some help.
No pressure rookie, just your first NFL roadie against a guy that was a top 10 DE in sacks last year.
Good test this week to help get the kid ready for the year. Hopefully, he passes with flying colors... If he can frustrate Clay, that's the first step.
From all accounts from training camp, it sounds like TT found a first round talent in the fourth round at a premiere position in this league. What a coup if Bakhtiari's play backs up his hype in the regular season.
Ummm....this kid has a long way to go besides 1 preseason game and a couple of weeks of practice.
Preseason offenses and defenses tend to be very vanilla. Bahktjnjifwterlpjx probably hasn't seen a lot of stunts, etc from opposing defenses. And once there's some film on him, NFL DCs will look for his weaknesses and try to exploit them.
I think stating "first round talent" might be a bit premature. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets worse before he gets better.
Agree, PackLand. But I would be most happy if Bacteria proves to be a fighter who won't back down and who learns from his mistakes. I'm also hoping he includes a touch of nasty. That would be a big jump over Newhouse, who just couldn't match the intensity of top-level guys.
Look, I'm not saying TT drafted Anthony Munoz. It sounds like the kid does have first round talent, and people that cover the team have said the same. I'm sure he'll make mistakes, as I'd expect any guy that was drafted in the first round would make as well. I'm just saying the early reports are very positive, and it would be great if his play when the games count backs up the hype he's received thus far.
He was projected as a second rounder prior to declaring and the abysmal performance of Colorado pretty clearly had an impact. He's a rookie and bumps in the road are inevitable but I like what I've seen so far.
He anchors extremely well & has a level head with maturity.
This is why TT is one of the best personnel men in the league.
I'm just glad we have someone that seems to be ready to play in September. I was furious when Bulaga went down
In the 2013 draft the Center-needy Packers just missed out on C Brian Schwenke from California who went at spot 107 to the Titans
Bahktiari was drafted by the Packers at 109....If Schwenke was still on the board, does GB even have Bakhtiari ?
Only the Shadow knows...
Don't you mean "only the Albino Pigeon knows"?
I was so freaking pissed when the Titans grabbed Schwenke two spots ahead of GB. He'd never answer it but that's a great question for TT.
If Schwenke is on the board and GB takes him does TT make a move up to land Bakhtiari? TT obviously had him in his crosshairs.
Then Tretter is on IR for someone else and GB has two young studs and we're not as concerned as we are about line depth. Then again Tretter may end up being really good.
I hate hypotheticals.

Yes, I can see the Packers getting Schwenke & Bakhtiari where the Packers drafted Tretter. No other OT was taken between Bakhtiari & Tretter. A couple of guards were taken though. That's it for O-Line
They are looking at Tretter as a center, & felt he was best interior Olineman at that point.
Mark Tauscher. Drafted in the 7th round, became a starter as a rookie when Earl Dotson went down with a back injury. If he wouldn't have hurt his knee in 2002 and again in 2008 he would have started every game for the Packers for at least 9 seasons. 1st round talent can be found in every round of the draft.
1st round talent can be found in every round of the draft.
But generally isn't proclaimed "first round talent" a few weeks into camp.
Some Bear fan in another thread has Kyle Long a ProBowler already.
That article is significant. It shows that Bakhtiari is not only focused and has a good work ethic. It shows an incredible amount of drive. It's one thing to simply be talented or to be in a program that reinforces effort, but to come from a program where he had to find that effort, drive, and discipline on his own, where he had to fight off the apathy of his teammates, and persevere even when the team was doing terribly, that shows a tremendous amount of inner strength. This is the same kind of personality I hear about in MM and Rodgers. This kid is a winner, whether it's in football or something after football. You can't teach that.
disagree. You just need the right text book.
I stand corrected.

The placcusation almost had merit, but if that's SW sconnie, isn't it Potosi?
They would have smiled Henry, if you would have just for that second, loosened the cuffs. But, I am sure they agreed to go, and have a great story to tell about the night.
Wasn't able to see the game tonight so overall, what grade would you give Bacteria? Heard he had a real whiff, but...?
I think I'd give him a real solid "B", Fandame.
He did have that whiff, but otherwise played well.
As best I can recall, he didn't allow any other pressures.
Not sure about his run blocking, though...just didn't see enough of him on those plays.
Thanks, Timmy. I have my fingers crossed he can keep improving.
He also had at least one false start.
If I were able to watch on my DVR, I'd go back and look at some of the plays in slomo. But don't have that luxury watching streaming (not that I'm a great evaluator of line play).
Didn't hear about that one, PackLVA, so thanks. Let's hope he's getting it out of his system now.
He is almost as ugly as Nitschke, he fits in and I like him.
Bacteria is a player
Word Of Hobbes: David Bakhtiari Redux
jerseyal.com
The Packers are just outside the redzone on 3rd and 5 at the Rams 22 and are obviously are looking for the touchdown.
The Packers come out in a 311 package (3WR-1TE-1RB) with tight end Jermichael Finley lined up inline next to left tackle David Bakhtiari and running back Eddie Lacy lined up to the right of quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
As we are again focusing on offensive line play, all thatβs really important is that Bakhtiari is lined up against Robert Quinn and Don Barclay is lined up against Chris Long. continue
Breakdown of the play after the click.
Good breakdown. Definitely going to make rookie mistakes but just his tenacity alone is quite refreshing.
