Just curious for those who don't, do, and have. I don't but I'm 90 minutes away by horse. Just curious what others experiences have been and what your opinions are. At times it seems like a magical place (Packers reason why obviously for me) that I could pull off (pending wife approval). At other times I say no way, that it would be too small town. Thoughts?

. Who really wants to live in he concrete jungle watching people move around like robots.
You're absolutely right, RM.
There are people that prefer typical urban and suburban life, and I have no problem with that. It's no different than those that may prefer to live on a coast to be at/near the water, or folks that might like a typical small-town way of life. Just gotta weigh your priorities.

As a disclaimer, I will say nobody should take my opinion. I've only visited once, and that was back in '97 (the week following our SB victory over the Pats). I drove up from Chitago and liked a lot of the farmland I saw; MKE looked like most 'big' cities I've been through, and as bad as I hate to say it, Green Bay looked like a depressed, old town. There may have been some recent layoffs at the paper company, if memory serves at all, but there was nothing around town that I saw that had a real "wow" factor.

If I had my druthers, I druther be in the mountains, but we are lucky enough (to us) to live in a older neighborhood where most lots are close to, or slightly over, an acre, and in a cul-de-sac. We do have neighbors, of course, but it's very private, quiet and peaceful, and (knocking wood heavily!) crime-free. I could never live in a high-density subdivision that's too common today.
I'd possibly still live there if I would have found employment there circa 1993.

I liked the "big small town" feel it had. That said, I've lived in the Milwaukee area for 20 years and I'd probably rather be here than Green Bay.

From people I still keep in touch with, I'd heard Green Bay is a particularly tough place to get a job post-2008 economic downturn.

Need to move back here:

The Ghetto in the Sky! I remember it well. Actually had my best friend live there for a year while we were in college. Horrible trash chute smells in the hallway.
