Az is just a better team and the Brewers were fortunate to win one game. Two of their starters completely shut the Brewers down. They hit, steal bases, play great defense, and they have the pitching. In the beginning of the season I thought they were just on a nice run but they are only going to get better and be a force in the playoffs.

The Brewers will be in the hunt most of the season for the division crown and will probably neither be buyers or sellers at the trade deadline. But they could get a nice return for Teheran, a guy they have nothing invested in, who has pitched his way to a nice contract next season that the Brewers surely won't pay.

The Brewers have not invested money in anyone since signing Yelich other than arbitration guys they had to pay. Yelich got 7 years for 188 million. The rest of the 40-man roster right now has total guarantees of about 125 million.

If you wanted to strip down the team to sell it, you'd do this.

The stadium maintenance issue they currently have is a bad sign.

I've never felt like Attanasio was really an owner because he was a baseball fan as much as he was in it to make money. Brewer attendance is usually around 4-6 among all NL teams so the fans have given him great support. I could live with a frugal owner but it takes a great farm system to compensate and the Brewers don't have one. As far as repairing the stadium? It won't be Attanassio's money that pays for it.

I agree. I don't think he's really trying to win a title. He is trying to keep them competitive, but he's not going to put big money into it. They caught lightning in a bottle in 2018-19. Yelich morphed into a superstar for those 2 years on a cheap contract. Hader, Burnes, and Woodruff all hit big on very cheap contracts. The Lorenzo Cain contract was a great value for those years. And they traded for some rentals that worked out.

The payroll in 2018-19 was under 100 million. It's at 125 million now and he's not going any higher. Burnes and Woodruff will be auctioned off after the year. Williams after next year. If they could trade Yelich for a bag of peanuts at this point, they'd do it.
