Trick or treaters came last night (per some silly rule).

We had one adorable little girl come by dressed in an angel outfit. She was radiant when she yelled out “trick or treat”.

Being responsible people, we were giving out apples instead of refined sugar. And I dropped a large honeycrisp into her bag.

She looked down into the bag, and then back up at me. “You broke my fucking cookie”.

In our trick-or-treating years, we had a Grandmotherly-aged neighbor (3 houses down on the right). She made homemade popcorn balls every year for the neighbor hood kids. Typically, invite us in to enjoy one fresh out of the oven, and put one in our bag for later.

Wow, nice. We were down this year to a couple of dozen as there were a couple of "tailgating trick or treating" around before the Vikings got beat.

Some little asshole in our neighborhood (caught on doorbell camera) dumped the whole bowl of candy into his bag around 7pm last year and kind of ruined it for everyone else this year.

Note on the door "sorry, no candy. have a nice time"

Ha, is that really your house? I'm surprised no one in our neighborhood has left a message like that for my wife over the past couple of years.

@Blair Kiel I did consider we might get some kind of payback but it was a quiet night. I think our front door sensor only went off a few times even though the lights were on. Wife and I were at a friends house and the kids were home in their rooms gaming. Very quiet Halloween in our hood.

No, not my house.  Someone in our neighborhood (posted on the Nextdoor website for our area).
