Why thank you, Goldie! And a happy Valentine's Day to you too!
In South Korea, the tradition is for women to give small gifts like chocolates to men on Valentine's Day. One month later, on March 14, they have White Day, on which the roles are reversed and men by the gifts for their ladyfriends.
For those not romantically involved, on April 14 they celebrate Black Day, getting together and eating noodles covered in black bean paste.
Interesting. My time in South Korea consisted of Itaewon in Seoul, Soju and 2am decisions between long time and short time. Who knew they celebrated Valentine's Day?
You make me remember all my times in Thailand!
I knew it.
Fedya is a mail-order bride.
Hateful.
Here's a late Valentines Day present to the Oakland Raiders from the SF 49ers:

Japan. The whole tradition was started in the 80's by the chocolate industry. I'm sure making awkward situations for millions of people was truly appreciated.
Not sure if the Koreans started it or picked up on it. The black bean paste thing, pretty sure that's all Korean.
