Harbaugh almost traded to Browns

That's not going to endear Harbaugh to Niner fans.

How do you let it go that far and then waffle?

Like some of the people post in the comment section of the PFT page I thought after the Gruden trade between Oakland and the Bucs the NFL outlawed trading coaches.

Makes it a little easier for 49er fans to question a coach that delivered his team to the doorstep 3 straight years then crapped his khakis when it came down to brass tacks. 

 

The guy comes off as an unstable road flare. Nothing good coming out of this in SF. 

Can we trade McCarthy to Cle, since they are giving away draft picks for coaches.

There's scuttlebutt that he and SF are far apart on his next contract with SF comfortable with some in house successors.

I take nothing from what he's done, but I tend to credit a decade of sucking and hitting on the picks more so than the HC.

I guess I don't see the logic in giving up a pick for a coach, but whatever....

Harbaugh is an annoying POS and I don't think the Niners are going to pay him like a top notch coach.  In actuality, going to Cleveland might have made sense for both teams. 

 

You have to think at some point that SF is going to get sick of falling short and unlike Andy Reid it's pretty obvious that there's only so much of Harbaugh you can stomach. 

I'd trade Coach Campen for Joe Thomas.

Few know this but the Texans have a horrible fan forum. I have been working on a deal to send Boris and some unnamed poster to them for their 1 and 2 this year and a 1, 2 next year. The funny thing is the Texans have not made it clear what kind of 1's and 2's they are talking about.

They banned the exchange of cash and draft picks for coaches. I believe it is still fine to trade players for a coach. Banning the exchange of cash for coaches makes sense (rich teams could just buy an elite coach from a poorer/cheaper team, thus screwing over the fans of the latter team), but the banning of exchanging draft picks makes no sense at all.

I heard reports that said this deal was set to go through, but then the 49ers discovered that Harbaugh wants cake now.

That would be horrible for Harbaugh because:

#126: If CLE sends SF a bunch of high round draft picks, Harbaught would have even LESS to work with in CLE for his first several years.

 

Mark this whole story under "too good to be true".

But just think of the marketing with the Harbaughs in the same division.

and that, "think of the marketing", is all that matters in badell's NFLFU.

Its an incompetent run and poorly organized ownership group. I mean come on they build a new stadium in Santa Clara that doesn’t want them without any thought of parking than try to strong arm the surrounding businesses into letting their fans park there. I know several 9ers season ticket holders of which only one is renewing do to their seat licenses. It an incompetent organization from the bottom to the top then back to the bottom again. Woa, I didn't know all that about Montana!  That's really too bad for that organization.

 

But as far as ticket holder not renewing because of seat licenses, even Packer fans had to pony up $$.  Although I don't know if the amount is similar or not.

Wonder if it's because he's holding a grudge over losing his starting job to Young (he'd be even more of a entitled bitch-man than Favre if that was the case), his pal Eddie DeBartolo getting forced out, or a combination of the two.

Personally, I think he is a drama queen, an asshole, and a Grade A douchebag.  But out here in Niner country, the fans worship the ground he walks on and view him as a savior who turned the franchise around.

 

Go figure.

 

I admit it.  I loved watching Joe Montana play.  As far as a person?  I don't know that guy.  But I loved watching him be an NFL QB.

My hunch, Jimbo is on his way down in SF.  It's all about Jimbo...always was and always will be.

MM has always been about the Packers and always will be.  He's a very good coach and we should consider ourselves lucky to have him.

At first I thought this was bunk but when I read the story I realized it rang true. Harbaugh is a bridge burning kind of guy; my way or the highway.

Come on San Fran, trade him to Dallas. Jerruh and Jim could be the biggest douchecouple in NFL history. How could it ever be topped?

I think that one college game when Harbaugh went for 2 as Stanford had a big lead really tweaked the Karma Bitches.  I think that's when Petey mouthed the words, "What's your problem?" or something like that.
