Sad news. One of my favorites.
Great player and not many of the Lombardi Packers left.
RIP
Perhaps the best player on the 1960βs Packers, and one of the greatest cornerbacks ever.

RIP Herb....
There's only 1 thing to do.
Kick the VIKINGS ASS in Herb's honor!
RESPECT and RIP
Although he remained in Dallas for three years and played in Super Bowl V and earned a third ring in Super Bowl VI, he said he never felt comfortable playing for a coach other than Lombardi, and wore only the two Super Bowl rings he won with the Packers.
Got his autograph on my 25th anniversary of the first Super Bowl back in the day. Also got, Max McGeeβs , Willie Woods, and a few more. Herb was so nice signing it for me. RIP Herb..... Packer People.
Great player. Those Lombardi teams up there are, unfortunately, getting closer and closer to being a full roster... RIP, Herb.
-- Vince Lombardi once told Herb Adderley that he was the best cornerback he had ever seen. Nasir Adderley is just trying to prove he is the best defensive back at the Senior Bowl. ... His grandfather is cousins with Herb, and Nasir would receive old film from his days with the Packers and Cowboys.Jan 23, 2019
RIP Herb!
Dang..great player.......RIP
I felt a little sick to my stomach when I saw the news. Coach Lombardi's team is slowly rejoining him.
Just a sad, sad day. RIP Herb.
Jerry Kramer, Paul Hornung, Carrol Dale, Dave Robinson and Boyd Dowler. Those are the starters that immediately come to mind as still being with us.
Herb Adderley was yet another dominant figure for us on the Packers. He was quiet, but when he did speak, everybody listened. When he performed, no one was better! RIP Herb. Love you Man. https://t.co/V6AARR04tX

Early prototype of the shutdown corner. Of all the hours of footage I've watched of the Lombardi Packers, Adderley was the most dynamic of the bunch. Great player, greater man who lived his life in a way that Vince mentored. Also had the sack in his later years to speak out for retired players with chronic health issues and send the NFL the message to do better looking out for all those guys who built the league.
+helped invent tight end.
