I can see him in San Diego also. They have a decent team but are underachieving this season again. And, Holmgren has west coast ties.
The Walrus and Jerry Jones; that sounds as good as the Tuna and Jerry. Except the Tuna knew what he was doing as a GM.

I could see him in San Diego, though.
So pairing him with AJ Smith is a good idea?
AJ Smith is going to get the broom too. And yes, the Spanos cabal could easily be dum enough to give total control to Holmy, perhaps with some 'GM' figurehead. The Bolts' roster reminds me of the GBP roster in 2005 - old, thin and top-heavy in terms of who's getting paid what. Add in the uncertainty of where they're going to play, the fact that the crappy fans here aren't filling the stadium and you have a total mess that could lend leverage to a guy like Holmy.
and they still have Rivers whipping and chucking the football around like INTs don't mean anything, and stomping around like George "Koko" Castanza in frustration. Rivers is still as bad as I always thought he was.
San Diego's another team that needs to figure out how to invest in their offensive line. The Cowboys, Chargers and Bears have some solid talent on offense but those crap lines kill them.
