Sorry if this has been done before, but I couldn't find anything in the archives.

Lifelong Packer fan here. I turn 60 next month, and after years of talking about it, I'd better grab my son and take him to Lambeau for a Packer game. We've been to the Packer Hall of Fame, but never to a game, though we've talked about it for years.

So what I want to know is the best, most scam-free way for someone way out in Idahoo to buy 2 single tix for a game. TicketMaster? StubHub? Some other vendor??? (and who should I avoid???).

How far in advance are single tix available? (so I know how muchtime I would have to arrange travel.) I'm not worried about motel room shortages, as I have family in Madison and Lake Ripley, and could drive a rental car from there.

I'm sure tix against rivals like the Bears and Vikings are harder to come by than say a game against Denver or the Giants...but is is POSSIBLE?

What should I expect to pay for 2 tix? I'm talking decent tickets here, nothing luxury.

p.s. I know I've seen a site with a list of future opponents for the Packers, but I can't seem to find it. Anyone know a link?
p.p.s. Is Tooner still around? He used to have some info on this.

Thanks guys and gals!

The NFL Ticket Exchange may be your best bet. Craigslist can have legit deals, but I think the risk of a scam is too high there. The best deals are likely in the scalper pit right around kickoff, but you'll want tickets in hand before traveling from Idaho.

Tix will probably run you $200-250 per pending on opponent. My advice would be to pick your section, and not get hung up on the row number. With the bowl setup, there honestly isn't a bad seat in the house, and Row 50 at Lambeau is probably equivalent to Row 30 in a modern stadium.

Just my two cents.
i took my son to the lions game last season. it was my first time at lambeau since i was a kid in the 1970s. got the tickets on nfl exchange. pricey, but safe. i think i paid about $150 each. tickets are much more expensive this year. more demand to see the super bowl champs i suspect.

anyway, it was worth every penny. the whole experience was fantastic. can't afford to go back this year, but perhaps 2012.

have fun!
You won't pay any more than that, and possibly a lot less, if you buy in the pit before the game. It takes some nerve, but if you wait until about 15 minutes before kickoff you could do well. I understand the urgency what with your other plans and costs and all, but if you want to spend the least, try that. Otherwise, lots of good suggestions here, especially if you just want them in your hands beforehand, which is totally understandable.

Just get there. It'll literally change your whole perspective if you've never been there before for a game. Best of luck.
I like to have tix in hand just because.

You can, however, just show up gameday and buy tix right up 'til game time anywhere around the stadium.

What was the Al Harris interception play-off game?

Showed-up without tix and payed just above face value right before kick-off.

Somebody will correct me if things have changed in the past few years.
I've probably been to about 75 games - my family has season tickets only because they were willed to us by my mother's father. I know that's not nearly as many as some of the posters here. I hate you, by the way. Every single experience is worth the trip, whether you drive 4 miles like I used to or fly 2,100 miles like I do now.

I also always feel better about my fitness level after about 20 minutes of tailgating in Lambeau. Which is nice.
I've been to Lambeau three times with my dad and two of the times we went without tickets and it's somewhat of a nerve racking ordeal, we went to games in late December both of those times(this was back in the mid 00's when the teams weren't great) and we didn't have any problem finding tickets right around face value probably because of the weather and the quality of the team. We didn't get great seats but people are right when they say there isn't a bad seat in the house.

The 3rd time we went through fuzzy's bar which worked nicely but you definitely pay more that way.

I have used stubhub numerous times without any problems but never for a packers game.

It's an amazing experience especially for a father and son. best of luck
I have been to 3 Packer games - 2 at Lambeau. Thankfully, both at cost. I have cousins with season tickets but I'm probably not visible on their radar screen as someone to invite - no one has invited me yet - and I have mentioned to them if invited I'd pay for the ticket. I have been reading about the pit for years on this board. And I am seriously thinking of trying it. I know it's a long drive if I can't get any, but I would go with someone and get to spend time with them anyway. Maybe go to a place where we can get pizza while watching the game. Either way, I'd have a great time. Yes you would... no politcal commentary please

I used to pay top dollar for tickets through ticket agencies. But I've since smartened up. You can show up on game game and get into any game you want just by walking around the stadium and haggling with ticket sellers. Some people have a few to sell and some have a stack. I bought tickets from scalpers probably a dozen times and have never been screwed.

Another option is to pick a date and post something on X4 that you're looking for tickets. You'd be surprised how many members here are season ticket holders that might just shoot you a deal if they have spare tickets.

Good luck.
