I mean, I see people getting all huffy and puffy about him and his decisions...the guy is 60. How many more years is he planning on working 4? 5?

He's been with the Packers coming up on 8 years...this team has gotten into the playoffs 5 times, 2 NFC Championship games, and won a Superbowl. He's also sent 3 of his top brass to their own GM positions.

Is he perfect? No. But if you look at what he's accomplished, no reasonable person can say he's not one of the top 5 in the NFL.

Haaa! I'm still laughing...

It makes sense now. Nobody to snuggle up with and all that time to study the draft and cap figures.

Just think he's also probably saved most of his income as well.

I figure he has nothing to live for except the team which means he'll stay at it for another 10 years if we keep him. TT needs to deliver another SB. I don't know that I'll be around 31 years from now.
Wolf just turned 31, pretty young to take over the GM spot in 2016.

** edit **
From his Packers.com bio...
quote:

- Named director of pro personnel on May 23, 2012. First joined Packers in 2004 as a pro personnel assistant (2004-2008); named assistant director of pro personnel (2008-2010) and assistant director of player personnel (2011).
- Currently the youngest director of pro personnel in the NFL.

I'm guessing he'll be ready when offered.

Interesting take, Boris.
My initial thought was it may take 2-3 years to have somebody groomed and prepared to take over, and with the recent turnover at 1265, it may take that long to 'rebuild the structure' of the management team.
Whatever the case, I hope they completely avoid the things that happened pre- and post-Sherman, and can continue the status quo as it is today.
I agree another SB win could change the timing of all these dynamics, but I wouldn't mind seeing TT extended another 3 years. That should take him through the vast majortity of ARod's career...
