Stupid play call. You have to know Browner is locking up Kearse. WR screen and see if Lockett can beat Butler 1-1. If you are that dead set against RTFB don't go quick slant. DL gets a hand up. Ball deflects off WR hands. Deflects off DBs hands. Too many things can go to **** there. Didn't Russ throw 2 picks on in slants against GB 14 days ago?

Stupid ass play calling. Period.

WTF networks have you guys been listening to?  All I heard for two weeks was about the freakin deflation crap.   Coverage on the Packers' epic debacle was pretty damn thin. I think we were all spared, to tell the truth.

He should have lobbed it up in the air about 100ft.

Yeah, Wilson is the best lobber in the game.

It was clearly not a good throw.  Considering all that could go wrong on that play, he needed to throw it further behind the guy and at his knees.  Butler wouldn't have gotten to it that way.

I'll finally admit, Russy throws a really nice jump ball.  But those lollipops that were landing safely in his receivers' hands during the playoffs (2pt conversion being the pinnacle) were pure and utter bull****.  I would be thanking god till the cows come home too if I were that lucky.

edit: not sure if fail mary or 2pt conversion was worse pass

I feel the same way, I wish Wilson was somewhere in the AFC.  He's not a "conventional" QB, but I think he is outstanding in his own way.  Let's be honest, that group of wide receivers he has is probably in the bottom 1/4 of the league, so with that group, he's just not going to get much help in terms of pure passing stats.

He's been lucky, and you could even make a case that he's a bit of a gunslinger at times.  I will say this though, when he does "throw it up for grabs" he usually picks a guy with a 1 on 1 matchup which is much less likely to be intercepted.  He does have good accuracy on those deep balls too, I think he's a much better thrower than people give him credit for, but there's no doubt, it's his pure scrambling and running ability that is his #1 asset at this point in his career.

He places the good deep throws well but his WR's are underrated in that regard.  They're not great as complete WR's but holy bejeezus do they bring those deep jump balls down.  If they weren't so good at it, Russy would look even worse.  But kudos, they make that part of their game work.

RW is easy to argue about.  He does enough things well to convince people he is underrated and doesn't do other things well enough to convince the rest of people he's overrated.

We've seen multiple QB's over the years perform very well with a great running game & great defense.

He needs to prove it to me without those 2 things before I even think about calling him "elite".

There's only a handful of guys that can carry a team without those 2 facets. Russell Wilson isn't one of them.

RW had quite the nice running game and D while playing for the Badgers too.

Lynch adds another dimension to the deal by also being a damn good receiver and I bet he would make any mobile NFL QB look good if not excellent.

I believe things will be much different for RW when Lynch is gone, their individual strengths really complimented each other, but once they're separated we'll see what RW is really all about.

Fortunes can change quickly in the NFL.

People have been doubting Wilson his entire career and more often that not he ends up making his critics look pretty stupid

Just when you think he's on the edge he makes a brilliant play or decision and his ability to seize the opportunity in clutch moments is really uncanny.

Seattle doesn't exactly have murderers row when it comes to WRs and if not for an unbelievable play by Butler the Hawks are hoisting another Lombardi Trophy

Conversely, if not for stupid play on about 7 plays by Green Bay defense & special teams, he's bounced in the NFC CG after throwing 4 INT's & should've been 5 (2 pt conversion).

It's a fine line & argument can be made for both sides but he isn't "elite" not even close. Russell himself had to say, "Believe in me!" to Bevell on that last play.

Right now, he's in the Brad Johnson, Trent Dilfer, Mark Rypien category of Super Bowl winning QB's.

I hear you Boris but he made a lot of big passing plays late in the game when it counted including the game winner.

The worst game of his career - probably on any level - and he and the Seahawks still get over on GB and the MVP.   That's a tough pill to swallow.

Which he contributed about 5% to.  He's a middler at this point.

C'mon now that's silly.  He's not Rodgers or Brady but he's a damn good QB.

He's better than Rypien and Brad Johnson, but you have to use him a lot differently than other QBs. Wilson is a very good fit for Seattle in that their OL is not very good, so you need a mobile QB anyway. Since Wilson's height is a significant disadvantage in the pocket, you have to scheme to roll him out a lot, which protects their OL.

I don't think he can keep running at the level he has and stay healthy, so he'll have to morph into a guy that stays in the pocket more. Maybe he can be like Drew Brees long term.

He almost certainly suffered a concussion on the Matthews hit. He probably barely knew where he was for a large portion of the 3rd quarter.
