Aaron Rodgers won’t attend Brett Favre’s induction into the Packers Hall of Fame on July 18 because he’s playing in the annual American Century Golf Classic in Lake Tahoe, but Favre said during an appearance on ESPN Milwaukee’s Green & Gold Today on Tuesday that the two have a good relationship and he is happy for the success Rodgers has had following Favre’s remarkable 16-year run in Green Bay, Jason Wilde of ESPN Wisconsin reports.

“Was there animosity toward Aaron Rodgers [in the summer of 2008]? No, there wasn’t,” Favre said. “I like Aaron. Aaron and I get along fine. I knew at some point he had to play. I knew he had tremendous potential. All those things have come true, and I don’t feel like, ‘Well, what about me?’

“Again, my body of work speaks for itself. I’m a different player than he is. He’s a tremendous player and a great leader, and he’s doing exactly what I thought he’d do. When people try to create a wedge either with me and a player or me and the organization, there isn’t one. Life goes on, I understand that, and I’m OK with that. But again, what I did speaks for itself.”

It was Rodgers who served as the catalyst for the Packers’ public reconciliation with Favre following Favre’s two-year stint with the rival Minnesota Vikings when he and Favre shared the stage at the NFL Honors awards show in February 2013 – although Rodgers said the coming together of the two QBs was only part of the equation.

“As much as on-stage at the NFL Honors I think that was important for fans and the team to publicly see us coming together, I think time is the ultimate catalyst for things coming back together,” Rodgers said in a Q&A with ESPNWisconsin.com in June. “Sometimes it just takes some time for people to move on and move past things. I was happy to be a part of that. It was fun for me to see Brett and do that little bit on stage with him.

Brett Favre on Rodgers: "I like Aaron. Aaron and I get along fine"

This just tells me that A-12 is so much more of a man then Brent will ever be.   Didn't Brent say once, I'm not a role model.....he never got along with Aaron.  So funny how we filter memories to what we want them to be NOT what they really are....Brent never got along fine with A-12.    Will be glad when this whole honoring will be over.  I thank him for the Packer memories, but won't forgive for what he did after his time with the Packers.  Ugh.....

Favre a Near-Bear?

Peter King: He said he was thinking of asking for his release so he could play somewhere else. Chicago or Minnesota, maybe. I told him I didn’t think the Packers would release him so he could torment them from within the division. I remember saying to him that day he should think about all the kids with Brett Favre posters on their walls; they’d be heartbroken if he ever walked into Lambeau as a Bear or Viking.

Nope, it's a euphemism for the condition white folks experience when they realize they are on the same side of the street as a black person.

It was so much more fitting for him to go to MIN instead and end his career the way he did.

We gave CHI the ultimate kick in the nuts in the 2010 NFCC game and Farb did the same to MIN in 2009.  Can't get much better than that.

And to put a nice red bow on the entire effing thing, It was Chicago that stopped the Silver Fox's consecutive streak and ended his career.

You know what?... let's let Brian tell the story

"I’ll never forget that game because his teammates didn’t go help him when he was on the ground, man, I was standing over him and I remember saying, Hey, you OK?’ And he never said a word, and I was like, You guys need to get somebody out here.’ He was messed up.’’

If Aaron Rodgers went Jay Cutler on us...

Ted and Mike would be gone.

So would Aaron.

2010 never happens.

6 straight years of the post season never happens.

Lambeau renovations never happen.

And Brett Favres Packer HOF retirement would have divided pro/anti Farve camps into fully irreconcilable directions and sent Green Bay into a totally special kind of dark place. Imagine what a Favre HOF retirement would be like if GB had no QB, bad coach, and failing GM coming off three consecutive 5 win seasons. GB police wouldn't allow a retirement ceremony.

All because Brent wanted things his way.

****. Brett. Favre.

Thanks Ted. Thanks Mike. Thanks Aaron. And many others. Brett Favre is only in WI tomorrow because they were all right about what had to happen. Then they owned it. Deep down I truly believe Brett hates how well Green Bay has done without him. He would trade a Packer HOF induction for Green Bay being a broken mess in a heartbeat.

**** I hate Brett Favre.
