When I look at that play, I honestly don't even know how they thought Majkowski was over the line to begin with. The LOS was the 14 yard line, and the ball and his entire body are behind that point as it's being released. However, it doesn't even matter where the ball is. If even a single millimeter of the heel is behind the LOS, the rest of the body and the ball can be well beyond it. A person (like Mike Ditka or your typical Bears fan) has to be seriously stupid and deluded to not see that as a touchdown.
Probably the defining moment of Majik's career. Sharpe, of course, had many more.

I remember how shocked I was that Alan Veingrad opened the season at RT ahead of Mandarich. I wasn't shocked once I saw Mandarich play.

Never seen Lambeau look so empty. Must have been those without snowmobiles who couldn't make the trek. Of course, it was in the middle of the '80s and we were in the midst of the suck seasons.
