Chris Ault leaving Nevada

I would love to have this guy come on board as an "offensive consultant" type role, similar to what Capers did in New England prior to coming to GB. I'm not advocating any kind of switch to a Pistol offense, but having another innovative offensive mind on the staff to throw in some different ideas would only be positive IMO. I doubt he's going to get a HC job in the NFL so I imagine the prospect of working with a great offensive mind in McCarthy on a SB contender would be highly attractive.

You would be incredibly incorrect. McCarthy plays the chess game as well as anyone in the NFL.

As far as Ault, I wonder how hard it would be for a college "offensive innovator" to integrate with a successful NFL offense. I wouldn't be against it but we've seen lots of "college geniuses" fail because it's just not the same game.
Ault will probably end up in Jacksonville with our savior.

IMO, this year showed more than any other how great of a Head Coach MM is ... he didn't have all of his toys so he had nearly a different gameplan week to week. He did a great job trusting his defense a bit, managing all the injuries, managing the clock and trusting his Special teams, Crosby not withstanding.
