C'mon Philbin, take a shot on DJ! He has sooo much potential.

Don't think of pink elephants?
that's pretty awful. finally gets away from Mark Sanchez and *SNAP*, season over. be a long recovery for that guy
This is why knee-level hits are the worst. I can see sometime in the future some rule being in place to not submarine a guy from the side or back. Sweringer went knee level when there was no real reason to do so. That's the type of hit that I think does a lot of damage to guys' careers.

FIFY.

If Philbin wanted to ship a draft pick for DJ Williams, I'd have no problem with that. I don't think TT would have any issues with it either.
I thought there was a rule of some sort already in the NFL about taking shots at the knees of a QB but the referees are lax on it over the past couple of seasons.....
Is this correct???? I'm fuzzy on that....
If the rule is there....regarding shots to the knees of the QB it only applies to the QB....I thought it was the Carson Palmer rule after he got nailed in the playoffs against the Pittsburg Steelers....

PackLand, I have no wishes to see flag football at all. But neither do I want to see what happened to Keller happen again. Not saying all hits to the knee, but in Keller's case the Texan just submarined his knee for no reason, and he did it from Keller's blindside. In that case, Keller had no chance to protect himself.
A DB is very often gonna go low on a TE/FB/big HB in the open field. I don't think the hit was dirty or borderline illegal. It's a contact sport, a violent sport where players get injured.
Shouldn't be a rule regarding shots to the knee. it has to be on players like Swearingen to know there's a good chance hitting a guy like that will blow his knee up.
I just don't think tackling is that exact. Just because you hit a guy low doesn't mean he's gonna blow out his knee.
We've all seen players get absolutely blown up and they end up bouncing right back up off the turf. And then other guys end up with severe injuries on plays you wouldn't expect it happening.
Heck, I remember a Wendell Davis (WR for the Bears) jumped for a catch in Philly, landed funny on the turf, no contact by DB and he blew out both knees ending his career.
