and its a wonderful thing that you're not...

He just signed with the Packers and will pocket a guaranteed $ 7,559,000

There is mo money available via the contract and future deals, but the guarantee means:

He'll take home a shade over $ 4 million after paying Kiel's taxes, which would net him around

$ 260,000 a year for life if he invests it all and earns about 6% interest on average. Not bad

Of course he'll need a house or two , but its interesting to look at the numbers for the game we all love

Congrats to him and his family, now its time to get down to the bizness that takes place on the field

The best thing Ha Ha can do is get a good honest investment advisory. The bulk of his  money should be put into diversified investments. He should also put himself on a budget and stick to it.

Do not seek out the Vick's and the Young's types in the NFL as role models on what do with his new found wealth. Instead look for guys like Woodson or Driver, they seem to have done a good job at preserving their wealth.

Interesting that at least right now, Hyde is the #2 safety alongside Burnett. Which means they want Dix to earn his spot. MM also described Hyde as a 4 down player.

Should make for a rather interesting TC at the safety position

What he needs to do to reduce his tax burden is get married.

Given the fashion these days, I suggest an inter-racial, gay marriage to a rich cellist.

His new name?

Ha Ha Yo Yo Ma.

How about Hyde and Ha Ha? I'm sure the grand plan is Ha Ha and Burnett, but I'm not sold on 42 after last year. Hopefully the real problem was playing alongside Jennings, but I'm not certain that's the whole story.

Depth charts are fluid.  In 2012, Jarrett Bush opened training camp as a starting CB.  In 2013, DuJuan Harris was penciled in as the starting RB and Graham Harrell was the #2 QB.

Yep. Same reason short of an injury we won't be seeing a starting CB trio that doesn't have Tramon Williams name in it either. MM and Capers were both saying as part of their offseason eval they realized experience trumps youth and that they were asking rookies to do things they couldn't due to lack of experience the last 2 years.

Capers also said his scheme will be toned down (aka keep it simple stupid).

Was rather underwhelmed by #42 as well but I also understand he got NO help in having Doc Jennings play next to him.

To recap:

Pimps can make up to $33k per week in an article in Blacknews.com that ends with "What do you think? Can this really be true? Is prostitution really that rampant in the U.S.?" and a link to Oprah's OWN network.

Donald Sterling just made $2 Billion.

Thanks Obama.

On a $12.5 million dollar investment.

Not counting any of the money he made along the way, here's his profit margin.

$1,987,500,000.

That's $1 Billion Nine Hundred Eighty Seven million Five hundred Thousand dollars & no sense.

Back to Ha Ha....

I'm guessing Burnett will be a very large part of our defense this year. While I agree he was under-whelming in 2013, This is basically his 4th year. His rookie year he only played in 4 games so I'm not counting 2010.

Most safeties take 3-4 years to shine in the league. 2014 is going to be Burnetts year & the 2014 Packers defense is going to be a nightmare for opposing offenses.

For comparison, look at Nick Collins in year 4. (2008)

Yes I have already purchased my Super Bowl winning ticket at 8-1 odds

Just saw this on CBS Sports

Ted Thompson brushed off a perceived lack of burst by Clinton-Dix, who ran the 40-yard dash in just 4.59 seconds at the NFL Scouting Combine in February. "It's not our time," Thompson scoffed. "He plays the game well."

They must've timed him at 4.4 then.

The best part is the guy in the background who turns around & looks, then turns to the left & starts to walk away instead of helping the guy who gets plowed into the shelf

6% earnings? He needs a better financial advisor.
