"giddy" is not the word I would use.

I can honestly say that with as poorly as the Packers played, had they only won because of a couple of major breaks from the officials it would have been pretty hard to listen the the Viking fans I live around and the media.

Will I still hear it since they lost....you bet, and I won't like it. But at least I don't have to hear how they were given it and how the Packers don't deserve it.

I know its kind of twisted thinking....but if it gets me though the night without kicking the dog, I'm gonna run with it.
2007 was way worse. WAY worse.

This game the Packers have only one place to look why they lost....

the MIRROR

This isn't about the Giants being a better team. Because 7-8 times out of 10, the Packers win that game this year. Turnovers, dropped passes, inaccuracy by Rodgers. Dom Capers rushing 3 early in the game (WTF?!?!) you did notice as soon as Capers put a little heat on Eli how he folded, did you not? As soon as he rushed 4 or 5 Eli & the Giant offense didn't know how to handle it.

It's all good though. The Packers didn't deserve to win today & the Giants did but I do not believe the Giants are the "better team". Because they aren't.
Not a surprise that they lost imho, although I'll still obsess over it for a week or two. More surprised that they were almost 16-0 with this year's defense. Mostly due to unbelievable QB play, rarity of turnovers, a great receiving corp. Shame to waste any year with ARod at QB, especially with this year's performance, but it wasn't meant to be. Not with this defense, O-line, lack of pass rush, etc. We had a better record this year with a seemingly worse team, mostly due to ARod. I'll trust TT to fix things, hopefully quick.
I am not glad they lost. How can you be?

The packers lost because the one facet of the game we thought would show today didn't. The D played good enough to win. 3 lost fumbles, mental errors, and poor offensive execution gave the Giants all they eneded to win. They came in with a chip on their shoulder. The Packers fed it with every miscue.

So I agree with Boris- the better team did not win today. The better team played a bad game at the worst possible time.

And what pisses me off the most? They were right. The pundits were friggin' right, and that just kills me. Worse than 2007- way worse.

Yep, this hurts me more. This team was better than that 2007 team was. They just picked a bad day to play horrendously. And while the Giants were good today, the Packers really honestly truly beat themselves. The Kuhn fumble where no Giant even touched him just sort of symbolized the kind of day it was.

I also agree, even if the Pack would have found a way to win, the refs absolutely handed them a couple of gifts that would have given all the conspiracy theorists plenty of fodder for discussion. I hate horrible referee calls even when they benefit the Pack.
I recall an anecdote about a baseball manager who was such a hard-ass, he once fired a player for whistling in the shower after a loss! Well, that's the way I feel about losing, too. I could never be glad about a loss, under any circumstances.

While I'm on the subject, I'm sick of losing to the Giants, At home! In the playoffs! Mad Today and 2007 equally suck. We were likely the better team both times, but whether its gameplan or execution (or both), they have our number. We're 2-4 in playoff games at home since 2001, and the Giants are responsible for half our defeats. No matter what else happens next year, I want to kick their asses OUT of the playoffs for a change.
I'm gonna keep defending my original statement.....

Maybe I choose my words poorly. The game the Packers played yesterday was over and they lost. Had they played that same game and won I would have been very happy...but had they won only due to officiating calls the win would have been tarnished and I/we would have had to listen to fans of the Giants, the media and fans of our rivals whine and complain about the fact that the Packers got/get all the breaks.

So, since the game was already over and the Packers had played a very atrocious game, I said that I was a little glad they lost and looked for a reason.

I apologize if I do not seem like a "real Packer fan" to you, but believe me, I am and was very upset about the loss. The Packers played a very poor game, not at all like they played most of the season (especially on offense). Had they played like we have seen them play all year, they would have won the game. That would have made me ecstatic. Instead they lost a game they really didn't play well enough to earn a victory in.

I knew exactly what you meant.

The Pack got some absolutely massive breaks from the officials that the "conspiracy theorists" who seem to think the league tells the refs to call the game so the Packers can win had a lot of ammo yesterday. The Pack got some incredibly lucky calls, and yet even with that, they still got drubbed by 17.
