Anyone watching this one?

Iowa comes out on fire in the 1Q and Clark goes crazy with 18.

Then the Gamecocks regain composure and play some fierce D to take a 3pt lead into the half.

So far, an incredible game.  Hope the rest of the way is this entertaining.

DEEZ NUTS!

Iowa had a tough end to the first half. Give up a 3 with less than 15 seconds left and then Clark gets picked clean for a layup. From up 2 to down with 3. And then South Carolina opens up 6-0 to start the third.

Down 9 now and fading.

Tessa Johnson is putting on her own Caitlin Clark show.  Wow.

She's hitting shots, but all of hers are wide open. It's still impressive, but every Clark takes the entire tournament is either contested or a logo 3.

The issue with Iowa is they lack interior size.  Just like against LSU they are getting killed on the glass. The difference is South Carolina has good perimeter defenders and several guards that can hit outside shots (sorry LSU).

You can see why the Cocks haven’t lost a game.  They’ve assembled pretty much a perfect roster and their depth is impressive as well.

I know they don’t have a WAR statistic but if they did Clark is probably best all time.

Clark didn't shoot a FT after the first 4 minutes of the game. The officials allowed a lot of physical play against her. Not blatant fouls, but just some tough physical defense.

Gotta adjust to the refs.   You too Greg Gard.

Very good game for most of it.

Iowa a bit flawed as Clark carried that team and South Carolina loaded with players across the board.  The Hawkeyes got away with it with UConn but not so much today.

Clark gave us an amazing tournament but in the end the better team won.

The amount of grease and oil collected on the temples of Greg Gard and Doc Rivers could probably solve the energy crisis.

In general, Gard just needs to adjust to sucking ass.

Iowa may have one more run in them, but I doubt it. As Tschmack says, there's just too much size inside.

Yup, I said the same thing to the Wife 5-6 minutes in when Iowa had the lead. Iowa better find a way to get them off the Offensive boards or it's over

Heckuva run, but in the end Clark wasted some of those possessions in the last couple of minutes. She was trying bombs and bad shots and didn't even try to run the offense, and everyone knew she was going to toss it up. Clark's teammates just stood around and watched because they knew they weren't going to see the ball. Clark needed to make some passes to give herself some space. Whoever was on Clark did a great job and SC cleaned up the glass. SC played some really good D, and after Clark had 18 in the first quarter she scored only 12 the rest of the way -- and she had four turnovers. Great player, but has to learn the same lesson that Michael Jordan did: you need to make everyone else better for your team to win it all.

But give SC and Staley a ton of credit. Their PG can really control the ball, they moved the ball all the time, and after a slow start they really took over the game.

Interesting thing about SC: they graduated their starting five from last year. The incoming kids and the team played together all summer to get ready for the year. They thought they'd eventually be good, but not this good this soon!
