You are essentially playing 4 meaningless games (and no, I don't believe ridiculous amount of help the Packers need will come close to panning out to slide them in the playoffs.)

Rodgers can do himself a huge favor by having these guys play and play a lot right now. You cannot simulate real game speed, playing real NFL defenses, and obtain invaluable playing time in OTA's, TC or pre-season. You just can't.

So why not see what these kids can do now? You know what you have in Adams. You know Cobb is as good as gone. They may even move on from Graham. Give these young WR's real playing time.

This is essentially a 4 game pre-season schedule you get to play in December. Put some starting blocks into the young WR corps now.

If this is a pervasive, systemic problem we now know why MM was fired in season, and this "attention to detail," problem won't get corrected by Philbin in a week or 4.

I made some similar comments in the Graham thread.
The Moose praised Kumerow's route running last week. If he is correct, he may already be ahead of the rooks you mentioned.
And find somebody; anybody to replace Spriggs. We've watched the same crap before from Newhouse, Barclay, and Sherrod, and I'm tired of seeing it.

Re: Falcons.
They're not a very good team this year, but I suspect they will look like all-world champions this Sunday. Our best (only?) chance would be to control the clock, keeping the ball away from Matty Ass & co.

Some observers, including some scouts, also think Josh Jackson with his ball hawking skills may be best suited as a safety. Maybe Pettine gives Jackson a look in that position as well in the next 4 games. Otherwise the Packers will be looking for 2 starting safeties in 2019

Jackson is swimming right now.  Moving him to safety at this point would not tell you much.  That is a decision and move in the off-season.

This week:

  • Bell has to be on the bench.
  • Agree that young guys need snaps.
  • Would like to see Light at RT if Bulaga can't go.  Spriggs just doesn't have it.

"Bell has to be on the bench."

Anyone who thinks McCray is any better than Bell missed the first couple weeks of the season.   There is a reason Bell didn't come out as a starter at RG after filling in for McCray and it's not because Bell is good.

Didn't Dan Orlovsky once run out the back of the endzone on accident? Should he really be lecturing anyone on details?

EDIT: Yep it was him

Jesus H, another safety done for the year.

Was going to make the same comment on Dan Orlovsky. Maybe some day we will have Mark Sanchez giving us expert views on the QB position.

I get my expert views on QB play here on X4.  No need to milk ex NFL guys.

I'm no Dan Orlovsky, but I think his analysis is rong.
It looks to me like Adams smoked his defender (top of screen) and was going to be wide open.
He may have been correct about Graham, however.

I'm in the hot tub with two lady boys and PFF pulled up on my iPad.  You all should be listening to me.

Throw Kumerow into that mix and I agree with it. Whitewater Jesus should be a deep threat along with MVS.

Have you KIzer:Boyle guys paid 200.00 to see them?  If you are a Falcon fan and bought flight, hotel and tickets would you like to see the 0 and gazzilion Kizer?   Not me.

And ask AR if he’s ok with that?

The Pack won't tank (although I admit, I wish they would.)

In fact, I have this feeling the team is going to play very well from this point forward.

I know they're not mathematically eliminated but seriously......why is Rodgers playing the rest of the year?

From what I have seen he can use the work.  Plus don't I always read how he needs to get the timing and trust down with th new guys.    What better time.  These are basically preseason games.

Getting timing down with any WR assumes the same plays or even routes will be run next year.  While I can see some things carrying over since there are common elements across the league, it's probably a safe bet that the offense is going to completely change anyway.  The rooks getting ANY kind of experience is a plus though.

Looks like guys are already more motivated...or worried they are next out the door.

interesting take, whether to play kizer/boyle, never thought about that.  maybe that should happen.

Kizer and Boyle are not players that are expected to contribute in 2019 or even beyond that. The young WR's and Tonyan are. They should play. They are part of the future.

If the Bears or some other team are kicking the Pack's ass, and a right sided OL led by stooge A in Spriggs and stooge B in McCray, and Rodgers is getting pummeled?

Hell ya bring in Kizer. Hopefully that doesn't play out but GB has to protect the franchise. The last thing the Pack needs is a late season significant injury to AR that affects 2019

The Pack needs to bring Bert to GB to call the plays.

“Double slant cross to that Adams guy. Is he running into triple coverage? Maybe. Would I throw it? I don’t know. I know I’d try. My record speaks for itself. I know I was never afraid. Did it always work? No. But I do know I had no regrets. For anything. It takes two snakes to cross a pond.......”

Delay of game. Offense. Again. 5 yards. Still 3rd down.

*Sigh*

Kevin King (hamstring) must've had a setback late last week. He's not practicing today. Neither is Bryan Bulaga (knee), Byron Bell (knee), Jimmy Graham (thumb/knee), Tra Carson (ribs), Raven Greene (ankle). But Kentrell Brice (ankle/concussion) and Bashaud Breeland (groin) returned.
