Did she ask him if he was still taking showers with teammates?

Loved Rodgers comments.  Eating hot dogs = code for yet another St. Peyton Manning postseason meltdown

I HOPE TO GOD we win!   Sorry, but after having our home team (Boise State) hang with Ole Miss for 3 quarters and then fall apart in an embarrassing fashion, and then watching my alma mater to virtually the same thing after being up 24-7 on LSU, I don't think my heart could take another loss within 1 week!

Or as Fred Sanford used to say while clutching his heart, "uh-oh.  this is the big one!   Hang on Lucille!   I'm comin' to see you!"

MM on if noise affects sideline communication: no, we're on headsets. they're new and improved, supposed to block out background noise.

Bart Starr didn't need no stinkin' headsets.

Carroll on Christine Michael: "He’s banged up. We’ll figure it out later in the week."

Carroll says Christine Michael and Tharold Simon are players they will have to watch through the week to see if healthy.

DE Cassius Marsh (hip flexor) it's practicing this week and will play. OLB Kevin Pierre-Louis has a pulled hamstring.

Carroll: Nickel back Jeremy Lane (groin), out a week, is practicing today. Hopeful to have him Thurs.

Carroll says hopeful WR Kevin Norwood and Bruce Irvin will have a chance to play against Packers.

Pete Carroll said Earl Thomas will indeed return punts.

No kidding. Watch the last drive in the Ice Bowl. That and Johnny U's work at the end of the 1958 Championship, best clutch QBing you'll ever see. Period. They were called field generals for a reason.

@TomSilverstein: #Packers DC Dom Capers said that Letroy Guion would be the starting nose tackle in place of Raji. But others will work there, too.

@TomSilverstein: Capers wants to keep Datone Jones and Josh Boyd at the positions they played in training camp whenever possible.

Maybe in a couple of years Tim Horton's will name a doughnut after him.

Packers will enter this season as the 6th youngest team in the NFL. Ted loves youth.

Of the 10 youngest teams in the NFL, only Kansas City, Green Bay and Seattle (7th) went to the playoffs a year ago. The rest of the playoff teams ranked 11th (New England), 12th (Denver), 14th (Cincinnati), 19th (Philadelphia), 20th (New Orleans), 22nd (San Francisco), 26th (Carolina), 28th (San Diego) and 29th (Indianapolis).

Thanks, Iowa!   I was pretty sure I had the wrong name, but that's all part of being an old fart.

On another topic, I'm a little surprised that Cobb will be returning punts.  Yes, he's sure handed, this is the first game and its on a national stage, but Jordy and Cobb are the only 2 star receivers we have.   Sorry, Boykin is doing well, but he's not at their level yet, imho.   I kind of thought they'd use Hyde or Harris.   I realize it's too early to try Janis there, but either of the two H's could do it.

To play Devil's advocate the team might be a little older had there been more capable defensive players on the team.  If we're being fair it's been a bit of a mess since the Superbowl.  Some of that is due to injuries but a lot of it is due to a bunch of picks that didn't pan out and that had to be replaced with more youth.  Particularly along the front seven.

It's a young mans game and Ted will always be churning the bottom of the roster which will keep it young. And it's not just the Packers.

all 32 teams, 2014 average age

Throwing out the high and the low, the other 30 teams range from 25.25 years to 26.84 years of age. Just a little over a year from 2nd to 31st (youngest to oldest).

In 2012 the averages (low to high) were 26.1 to 28.8. That's a significant change in just 2 seasons.

Using Mathews to spy is a waste of one of the best pass rushers in the game.   If you are going to spy, do it with someone else.
