@ByRyanWood:   Matt LaFleur is "little bit concerned" about Rashan Gary's toe injury. He likes #Packers OLB depth, but no replacing Gary. "The guy is pretty impactful when he's out on the grass. Certainly he's a guy we want in there, and when he's not in there I think you can feel the affects of that"

Not good ... the two guys we can't afford to have out are Gary & Clark.

Gary is practicing ...

This week and next would make the most sense, have him ready for Buffalo. If that's too soon, skip over that week and the Lions, then have him ready for Dall-ass at home.

From packers.com:

The Packers have listed linebacker Rashan Gary (toe) as questionable for Sunday's game against the New York Jets.

Receiver Christian Watson (hamstring) and linebacker Tipa Galeai (hamstring) have been ruled out. Neither player practiced this week.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers (right thumb) did not receive a game status and is expected to play. Rodgers didn't practice on Wednesday but was a full participant on Thursday and Friday.

Gary was added to the injury report on Thursday but continued to practice on Friday, albeit in a limited capacity.

guys, GB always drafts high picks with the traits that you can't teach, speed, size, etc...watson has traits nobody else has - he's fast as *(&#$ and he's going to be NFL big in a couple years.

I think some of Watson's problem is Rodgers ignoring him in the passing game since " The Drop", then again there is the hamstring thing.  I still have high hopes for him sooner rather than later. Okay Watson haters here is your click bait .

I learned my lesson in being prematurely critical of Gary.  I will give 9 some time, it will take maybe a year or 2 but if he is dedicated, soft tissue stuff and being nfl ready will be fixed up...then, look out because you cannot teach 21mph...

You can't be that bad on the road when you have 13-3 and 13-4 finishes.  I'm more concerned with shitting the bed at home in the playoffs two straight years.

Other than AJ Dillon, for the type of offensive talent they have on the roster, they are a better warm-weather team.

Even on defense, they are more of a speed/finesse team than they are a physical team. Kenny Clark is an exception, but they've prioritized speed on defense.

In other words, being on the road wouldn't be the worst thing that could happen to them (assuming they can make the playoffs). They are 5-6 in road playoff games in Rodgers' career and 6-3 at home. However, the 6 losses on the road include the two Arizona games where Rodgers played well, the Bostick Seattle game, and the Kaepernik game.

Obviously, they've lost the last two playoff home games.

That was the guy on the injury report that caught my attention. I hope it’s not the dreaded “Turf Toe”. Those can be nasty and take a while to “heal”.

From packers.com:

The Green Bay Packers elevated WR Juwann Winfree (juh-WANN) from the practice squad to the active roster for gameday and placed LB Tipa Galeai(tee-puh nah-lee-eye) on injured reserve. The transactions were announced Saturday by General Manager Brian Gutekunst.

Thanks Jaire (and the other players who took the bull by the horns and met with Barry) ... wish Barry would have recognized it himself and wish the intervention had come from the head coach, but at least someone gives a F about the unacceptable defensive play and was willing to stick their necks out.

How come they don't tell us how to pronounce Gutekunst?

It'll last for a game or two but a leopard cannot change its spots.

I have that "feeling" too, but it doesn't mean much. I "felt" the Packers would kick the shit out of Tampa in the NFCCG, and really "felt" GB learned their lesson that year and would seize home-field advantage and go on a run in the post-season last year.

We'll see what this team is made of. I know it's hard as hell to win in this league and it's early in the season, but if a team ever needed a statement game, this is it. Just not 100% convinced they have it in them. Show us.

I don't make it a point to dig in on the happenings during the week, but in passing I'll see things come over my feed. It seems like this week nearly everything out of GB has been "we need to play better" and "we will turn this around." Which is fine if you show evidence of it on Sunday. This week it felt more like trying to reassure themselves of this. More like a kind of bravado when you've lost to an inferior team and play it off as a one time thing. I expect them to play well this week, especially at home. Even if they play well and it's a tight game, we can at least point to things they said they'd switch up and followed through. If they fall to 3-3 in a home game, every remaining opponent will smell blood. This needs to be the week they choose to start dictating the game to the other team. Otherwise, it may be a long year and every week will feel like the past two weeks. I still think it's 100% within their control. But they need to show up and play 60 minutes of football.

Tennessee just ran a really nice shovel pass for a 2 pt conversation against Alabama.  Seems like something we haven’t seen from the Pack in a while.  Really looking forward to seeing something new both offense and defense.

Shut him down. Not like 12 is throwing to him anyway.

If they run the ball anything is possible, but they haven’t proven that they will.

Historically, the Packers don't play the Jets well at Lambeau.
The last game (2014) the Packers won 31-24 after trailing 21-3 early in the 2nd quarter.
Before that (2006) was a 38-10 loss. To Chad Pennington.
Overall, the Packers are 2-3 @ home vs the Jets.
The Football Database

It just depends on which team shows up this time; the one that can dominate both sides of the ball, or the impotent one that can't score and can't stop the opponent.
The Packers have enough talent to win, especially on defense. Just gotta TCOB.
Ditto for the offense. Less talented than the defense, perhaps, but there's enough to win.

Does shutting Watson down mean that we'll see Amari on offense, doing end arounds? Unless Cobb gets hurt, that may be the only time Amari sees the field, on offense, for the Packers.

Lately, the Packers don't play anyone well, at Lambeau.
