Onto Kitty Land.

Playing at Detroit has been a pain in the rear for us. Then again, Rodgers is having an MVP season and this team is built for a fast, indoor track.

Barring a stupid amount of turnovers (see Colts game), I do not see this being a close game.

Robert Tonyan, who had a 25-yard TD catch on Sunday, is the first tight end in team history to have a TD catch of 25-plus yards in three straight games. He has eight TDs on the season, the most by a Packers TE through 12 games since Paul Coffman also had eight in 1984.

If this wasn’t a divisional game I’d put this firmly in a trap game category.

The Packers trailed badly in each Lions’ game last year and only led and won as time expired in both. Bevell will go for broke and every Lions’ player knows this is a job interview for next season for them.

GB better come ready to play.

From MLF presser, just concluded:

”@RobDemovsky: Packers coach Matt LaFleur said Billy Winn's triceps injury is "definitely a concern." He was ruled out almost immediately, which is never a good sign.

Sounds like Raven Greene (shoulder) and Tyler Ervin (ankle) are in bad shape, too. "I've got a lot of concern about both of those guys," LaFleur said.”

Sounds like a season-ender for Winn.

Last year, I thought Rodgers had a really bad game in Detroit.  It was games like that where the team probably wondered if it was time to move on from him and find his future replacement.

Rodgers looks like a different player this year so I don’t expect a repeat of last year’s awfulness there but you never know.

The Packers cannot underestimate the Lions. Especially when the Lions have played us tough, the past several games against them. GO PACK, GO!!!

@TomPelissero: #Packers DL Billy Winn is expected to go on IR with his triceps injury, but it's not considered season-ending, per source. No tear. The plan is rehab and return in three weeks.

@TomPelissero: Meanwhile, #Packers return man Tyler Ervin is also likely headed to IR because of his foot injury. No surgery needed, per source, but he's expected to miss at least a month, so his season may be over.

Makes the additions of Anthony Rush and Tavon Austin look pretty good now. GoodPussy doing his due diligence.

From packers.com:

“The Green Bay Packers activated G Simon Stepaniak (step-uh-nack) from reserve/non-football injury and placed RB Tyler Ervin, S Raven Greene and DL Billy Winn on injured reserve. The transactions were announced Wednesday by General Manager Brian Gutekunst.”

Stepaniak is an interesting prospect. Many draftniks had him rated higher than Runyan. He might not make the game day roster this year but I think he and Runyan could be the team’s starting guards in the future.

Crap....Raven Greene is the one the Pack will miss the most.

Detroit will give it their all but hey, they're still the Loins. Barring excessive self-inflicted wounds (TOs, penalties or Special Teams gaffes) the Pack will prevail 34- 24.

Really like Greene but he's getting a history of not being able to stay on the field.

From Thursday’s practice:

@RobDemovsky: AJ Dillon is off the reserve/COVID list and back practicing for the first time in nearly six weeks. Also, WR EQ St. Brown (knee/concussion) has returned but TE Jace Sternberger (concussion) has not. TE Marcedes Lewis (knee) getting his usual Thursday off.

I was having some nostalgia last week thinking of the Packers/Eagles history.
The same holds true vs the Loins, going back to 1933.

The Loins can't beat the Packers, but the Packers can lose to Detoilet. If the offense is crisp, sustains drives, and doesn't turn the ball over, it won't be close.
I'm actually a little excited to see if Buckets and Gary continue their improving play, and hope we get the new big ugly in the mix.

The Titans signed offensive lineman Marshall Newhouse to the active roster, the team announced Friday night.

Newhouse signed with the Titans’ practice squad Nov. 27.

Newhouse was active for last Sunday’s game against the Browns as a standard gameday promotion, but he did not play.

Newhouse is a veteran of 10 NFL seasons, appearing in 129 games with 81 starts. He played 15 games, including eight starts at left tackle and one at right tackle, for the Patriots last season.

Newhouse also has played games with Green Bay (2011-12), Cincinnati (2014), the Giants (2015-16), Oakland (2017), Buffalo (2018) and Carolina (2018).

He entered the NFL as a fifth-round selection of the Packers in the 2010 draft.

Newhouse has carved out a pretty respectable NFL career. Not sure if I forgot the game was flexed to late or never caught it when it happened.  One of the things about growing old that I'm  adjusting to.

Games in Detroit are usually more difficult than they should be.  Think the Packer offense is playing so well that I see a pretty comfortable win.
