They should start Willis.   With all the lower body issues is having, a slippery field is not what the Dr ordered.    Plus, if it’s gonna be a run heavy day, might as well let him heal all the way up.

I guess that if the team feels that they have the best chance at a win, then they should start Love. But if he starts feeling the injury getting worse, then put in the backup. I guess it’s a risk-reward thing.

Jacobs vs. Montgomery/Gibbs

Whoever stops the run best....wins

Jacobs/Wilson  v  Montgomery/Gibbs

The Packers/Lions game is one of only two games this weekend where both teams have a winning record. Broncos/Ravens is the other game….both teams are 5-3.

That’s a lot of mediocre football.

The leagues dream scenario is every team has a record of 8-8-1.

Have fun with the tie-breakers for the playoffs.

If they were at all worried about Love's injury they would have elevated Clifford.  The fact they're going into the game with two QB's means they are pretty confident Love is fine.

Now you know why the Lions run up the score.  All else being equal, the tie breaker is points scored.

I am sure they have at least some worries. And I doubt that elevating a PS QB would make any difference in a losing game.

It won't be so much the RBs as it will be both lines. On defense I don't think that we can win one-on-ones. If the wind effects the passing game it may allow Haffley to commit more defenders to the run while minimizing the chance of giving up big plays in the passing game. I think we can run the ball on them.

Sure there's worries. He's not 100% and they are playing on a wet field.

But if Love was truly 50/50 they would have elevated Clifford. You don't skip preparing for something like this because you might lose the game. You do prepare to give your team the best chance to win.

There is no doubt that the team prefers Love as the starter. If he looks good and plays well, then great! The lions will test his mobility hard and often. Willis looks good as the backup. But I hope that we don’t make Love’s injury worse and have to play Willis, unless we are boat racing the Lions.

Jets and Cowboys will never be 8 - 8 -1 this season.
