The NFL has a problem. There really isn't a "slot" to reschedule this.

I know this much.....

If the Packers lose this game against a Niner team that doesn't have a player on the field that touched the ball in the NFC Championship game....I'm pretty much done watching football this year.

Does the NFL want the Packers to contract SF Covid? If the NFL bent over backwards to reschedule the Titans' game, why can't they reschedule this game? Maybe it's too late?

They were totally different situations. The Titans had positive tests, followed by more positive tests, and more positive tests. The Packers and Niners had a single positive each with a couple of close contact individuals and no follow up positive tests.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, I’m moving to Canada (Coach sold me his house there as ironically he’s moving back to the States) you can live with me there.

A.Brandt commented similarly yesterday, saying it being later in the season the options are becoming more limited. The Titans issue was in the 1st 2 or 3 weeks, when there was a lot of ballgame left. We are now into the 2nd half of the season for many teams.

Clearly the NFL did not make the best halftime adjustments to their original game plan.

So Honey Nuts Florio went on like a 10 minute rant today about how this game is so unfair to the Niners because they lost two starters who are not Covid positive (I'm not counting Deebo, he was already out) and how can the NFL play this game. It's so unfair to the Niners. Does the idiot really not know the Packers also lost two starters for the same exact reason? What a doofus.

I agree that options may be more limited now than last month, and that these are unique circumstances, but it still reeks of 'damn the torpedoes, full steam ahead' from the league.
It's like the game can't be cancelled because there are no other games to 'cover up' a cancellation (Thursday night, of course). And loss of revenue for the almighty Fox is out of the question.
That's the vibe I get in this whole mess.

Quality of football doesn't matter -- Just get any stiffs padded up & stick them on the field. We have TV money to collect!! NFL

I reiterate......

Malarky!!

Maybe YA Tittle can give both teams a participation ribbon instead.

The NFL is really rolling the dice here

You know there are several players positive or exposed.  On both teams.  Having them play and interact seems like a really bad idea.   If the spread accelerates like it has with other football teams this could be a real issue a week or two from now.

I think it’s already a competitive issue for both teams.  Why not move to Monday or Tuesday?

@RapSheet: The #Packers are now hopeful that star RB Aaron Jones (calf) plays tonight vs #49ers, though it may end up being a limited role, sources say, which @MikeGarafolo alluded to earlier. He’ll warmup early and test it. If he’s 100% with no chance of reinjury, he plays.

@RobDemovsky: The Packers elevated S Henry Black, CB Stanford Samuels and RB Dexter Williams from the practice squad to the active roster for gameday as COVID-19 replacements and also elevated G Ben Braden from the practice squad to the active roster for gameday.

I heard there were three players positive with Covid.
