bugs you? when you tweak something all warmed up it's livable and you can finish the day usually. it's after you've cooled down and/or the next day when the bitch of it shows up
Playing head games with the Saints (i hope)
A good sign for Kenny Clark (groin), he made it through Thursday's return without a setback and practiced for the second straight day. https://t.co/pkVTjYS0mr pic.twitter.com/XkKMUvp5gt

Third straight no-go day for Davante Adams (hamstring) and no sign of LG Elgton Jenkins (who wasn't on yesterday's injury report). We'll see what Matt LaFleur says after practice about their status for Sunday night at New... https://t.co/8byOgLspjz pic.twitter.com/T8g4DI8h4D

Pettine and MLF continue to insist the defensive struggles have been because of "mistakes and mental errors."
That this seems to be a carryover from last season is worrisome.
Kamara will be a stiffer challenge compared to the Loins and Queens.
Matt LaFleur says he'll give Davante Adams the rest of the week, but right now he considers Adams to be "doubtful" for Sunday night vs. Saints.

LaFleur said he's "not overly concerned" about Elgton Jenkins, who did not practice today. No word on his actual injury yet.

Pretty much standard coach speak. Or "we can't say those DTs suck but that's the problem".
There definitely is a talent deficit but Pettine has to make sure those "mistakes and mental errors" are handled. Drafting some DTs would help with the "mental" issues.
I'll say this much. Mayo lighting into the defense at half time produced results.
As the season progresses, I think Rashan Gary is going to be a bigger and bigger pain in the ass for opposing offenses. He just looks more and more confident.
And that includes some run defense that he's getting better at diagnosing.
From an Athletic article previewing this weeks game...
"Rashan Gary has maximized his pass rushes about as well as anyone in the league. He ranks second in pressure percentage for linebackers only behind the Ravens’ Matt Judon (minimum of 30 rushes)"
No Michael Thomas again at practice today

Probably pretty safe to assume he's out for Sunday.
Edit: Now officially out.
Watching the All 22 vids and other highlights or analysis, I see LOTS more the defense can do, starting with tackling.
All of our DBs use piss poor technique like diving at their legs/feet with their shoulders (and heads) down. Sometimes it works, oftentimes it doesn't.
I have no idea what Lowry was trying to do vs Detroit. Multiple plays he's on the ground within 1-2 seconds after the snap. Not that anybody else on the DL is doing any better.
The Smiths have all but disappeared this year. Looked like Z got manhandled vs that vaunted Lions OL.
If..... if they can improve their tackling, start getting some pass rush from the Smiths, and lean on Clark, they would be a much-improved, solid defense.
It's still pre-season.
The defense will be markedly improved once KC gets back 100%
The DL is hot garbage without him though.
The Packers have signed WR Darrius Shepherd and TE John Lovett to the 53-man roster.

What happened to Billy Winn? I read they called him up.
From packers.com:
The Green Bay Packers signed TE John Lovett (love-it) and WR Darrius Shepherd to the active roster from the practice squad and elevated DL Billy Winn from the practice squad to the active roster for gameday. The transactions were announced Saturday by General Manager Brian Gutekunst.
Lovett (finger) has been added to the injury report, but his game status is unchanged for tomorrow's game against New Orleans.
Ah, good. I don't know what Winn has to offer but it has to be more than Adams. I haven't seen a piece of beef get worked that bad since Rocky.
