I could see a back door cover of sorts. I could see the Steelers getting up by 30-7 in the third quarter and then playing backups the whole 4th quarter and the Packers kicking a FG and getting a garbage time touchdown to lose 30-17.

Very understandable. Top to bottom I think they've got the best roster in the division and I'd give the coaching edge to Zimmer. Don't ever see him allowing years of mediocrity and worse on the defensive side of the ball like MM has done.
Wow. A head coach that is a defensive coordinator won't allow the defense to be bad.
Don't forget that Keenum played several games for the Rams, so he wasn't a totally untested backup. That said, Keenum has more than kept the ship afloat, and earned himself millions in the process.

3 years isn't enough. I'm guessing they should've sniffed that out. Brett Bradford. Regardless of the QB, the rest of the team looks like **** unless they go up against a bottom of the barrel offense.

You mean a coach and GM after a evaluating their 5th round QB pick and finding him wanting could have made a offer for Keenum?
Keenum is doing what everyone largely expected Hundley to do.
Likewise, the Vikes are doing what everyone largely expected the Packers to do.
I'm not going to buy the story that the Vikes are more talented than the Packers. Not for one second. Their team is much better; their players are not.
My opinions is the Vikes are doing more with less. That has everything to do with schemes and coaching, and less to do with individual player talent. JMHO.
I agree the talent level isn't better but they have a functioning coaching staff. It's pretty apparent the inability to adjust for adversity is pretty extensive.
To be clear, it's just extremely disappointing as a fan to have such an utter collapse. You'd hope with the talent on this team they could play .500 ball.
I don't know about the talent thing...especially on defense. How many high draft picks (top 15-20) do the Vikings have on defense? I think they have better talent than the Packers on the defensive side....and I think they are better coached on the defensive side.
No question they are better coached.
Talent OTOH....I don't believe the Vikings are appreciably better. Switch defensive coaching staffs & I guarantee the Vikings defense ain't ****.

After the 2010 season, and again the 2015 season, I thought MM to be one of the best coaches when it came to "circling the wagons" dealing with extreme injury or other extraordinary situations.
There were still many of head-scratchers, from a play call to clock management to in-game adjustments and more each game, but he could still win them when we shouldn't have been able to. Look at last year's improbable playoff run as an example.
One could think the loss of Rodgers would be the ultimate moment for the guys to pull together and respond to effective leadership, and that MM would be as prepared and experienced to do just that as anyone could be. Same for the players too; there's plenty of vets on both sides of the ball to guide the young 'uns.
So why does it seem to be working for Zimmer and not MM?
Are their position coaches and coordinators that much better than the Packers?
Or is it the players like the kool-aid better in Minnesota?
Very simple , both Teddi & Bradford being injured turned out to be a lucky break, in that Keenum is playing better than anyone could have imagined & would never had gotten the chance if not for the injuries to the other 2. For us, everything is built around AR, from the o-line as pass blockers, to the defense being built to play with the lead. So while both teams have an injury to their starting QB, it is the very worst injury we can have, and as it has turned out, a good one for them.

Ladies and gentlemen- history should serve as a strong indicator of where the Vikings will end up come January.
They are on a roll, no question about it. Keenum actually looks like a legit QB but the Vikes have done this before with Cunningham and Jeff George and yes Bert as well.
I probably don't have to remind anyone of the 1998 season - that juggernaut of a team that looked like a shoe in to win it all but melted down against the Dirty Birds. Then there was the magical "this ain't Detroit man" moment that may have been an even more spectacular of a choke job only to be replayed a few years later when Blair Walsh basically missed an XP field goal attempt against Seattle.
Having spent enough time living in the TWC I can tell you a lot of my Vikings friends are not running their mouths because they know what could be lurking around the corner - another soul crushing defeat in the postseason to blow their chance at playing in the SB in front of their home crowd.
The table could not be set any better for them either. They have benefitted the most of any team with the Rodgers injury as I see GB being 9-1 or 8-2 had he been healthy. Anthony Barr changed the entire NFC playoff picture but if I had to predict I see an Atlanta team going to MN yet again and ending their season. Somewhere along the way karma will show itself and when it does that's going to be a lot of fun it what has been an awful Packers season.
Home field advantage has never helped the vikings in the playoffs before. Thank you Gary Anderson and Brent Favor! No matter what anyone says, the vikings still and always will suck!

The biggest indictment of the Green Bay coaching staff is how well Hayward and Micah Hyde look after leaving in free agency. Both guys are playing on reasonable contracts (5 million a year for Hayward and 6 million a year for Hyde). Our defensive coaching staff decided they weren't good enough early on and TT decided to draft Randall and Rollins. It's not just that Randall and Rollins have struggled. It's the fact the used 1st and 2nd round picks on them when they could have drafted other guys (best player available in those spots) and kept two guys who at least weren't going to let receivers run wide open across the field due to coverage snafus.
The defensive talent is there. Daniels and Kenny Clark are as good a pair of DL as there are in football. Matthews, Perry, and Martinez are good linebackers. Dix and Burnett are top level safeties.
The problem with all the defensive struggles is that they've had 14 1st to 4th round picks the last three drafts. 11 of the 14 have been on defense. They keep trying to add talent to a defense that probably has enough talent. The 11 defensive picks are Kevin King, Josh Jones, Montravius Adams, Vince Biegel, Kenny Clark, Fackrell, Martinez, Lowry, Randall, Rollins, and Jake Ryan. That's a lot of good young talent to add to CM3, Mike Daniels, Nick Perry, Burnett, and Dix. They should be dominant.
They've loaded up on defense and ignored the offense. The picks in the first 4 rounds on offense the last 3 years are Spriggs, Jamaal Williams, and Ty Montgomery. That's probably less offensive talent with premium draft picks than any team in the league the last 3 years.
Hyde is playing safety for the Bills, he was never going to play ahead of Burnett & Dix for us. he does not have the speed to play slot corner. He looked great early for the Bills when their front seven was playing really well, but in the last 4 games they have given up an average of 40 pts. per game.

You don't need straight line speed to play slot corner as much as you need to be able to change direction quickly. Maybe he's not athletic enough for that either, but is he any worse than Davon House? I'd take Hyde - they are the same size and Hyde is much more versatile and durable.
