Remember the early 80s song "Centerfold"? John Geils, frontman for the J. Geils Band that had a big #1 hit with the song, has died aged 71.
Blair Kiel would have hit the young women in the video back in the day; Beef would hit them now.

Angel is a Centerfold is on my Ipod.
Love Sinks, Freeze Frame, Flame Thrower, Till the Wall Come Tumblin' Down... good stuff.
All this time I thought it was Angel in a centerfold. My whole childhood no longer makes sense.
Actually, "J. Geils" wasn't the frontman. Peter Wolf was the vocalist, Geils the ax man.

"My anus is the center hole"

Bonger suffers from Chronic Lyricosous.
Geils was quite the accomplished guitarist, and was very well-respected by his peers. With apologies to BK (and others?), I never cared for any of the Pop crap (Centerfold, Freeze Frame, Love Stinks, etc.), but EKB was on the right track.
Recommended JG tunes: "Orange Driver" (Hotline), "Give It To Me" (Bloodshot), "Looking For A Love" and "Whammer Jammer" (The Morning After).
Geils and Magic Dick formed Bluestime after the J Geils Band, and went back to a more roots-based, jazz and blues sound, and produced some good music over a couple of albums.
