Wouldn't thrill me if Im a Jags fan (then again, what would make a Jags fan happy..ever).

Not like they have TT or Oz as GM. Highly unlikely they will turn those late rounders into finding a Bakhtiari. With investing in a high round T this past draft, it looked like the Jags were setting up their line well. Unless Monroe's a complete bust, that's a lot to give up for what is likely to be crap picks on day 3.

the Steelers and Gianst heard you.

A league source tells PFT that the Cardinals have agreed to a deal that will send tackle Levi Brown to Pittsburgh. Pending a physical, the trade will happen.

How bad and/or banged up is the Giants’ offensive line?  So banged up that, on Tuesday, they brought in 10 unemployed offensive linemen for tryouts.

The 10 candidates were guard Chandler Burden, guard Zack Chibane, guard Oscar Johnson, guard Ryan Lee, guard Lance Louis, guard Dallas Reynolds, guard Matt Reynolds, tackle Dennis Roland, center Scott Wedige, and center Edwin Williams.

Reynold was the Gong Show winner, getting both the $516.32 and a job.  Given the current state of the team’s offensive line, Reynolds could be on the field, sooner rather than later.

Monroe is serviceable, that's about it.  He has had injury concerns, and has under performed since he's been in JAX.  I would not even say he has performed as well as Hawk.  A top 10 pick who has been on and off the field the past few years, and who has played average.  At least Hawk is on the field.

Does he have talent?  Sure, could be anchor the LT position for BAL for the next 10 years, possible, not probable, considering his history.

On a blip from ESPN, he was compared to as a more healthy and more talented version of the Packers Bryan Bulaga. They went onto say Monroe doesn't get the attention he deserves mainly because of the team he plays for but he's one of the more underrated LT's in football.

It's a big win for the Ravens assuming  they can re-sign him. ESPN said absorbing his salary puts the Ravens very tight against the cap. If he plays well, coupled with the attention Monroe will now get playing for the Ravens, he could demand a big pay day in FA. If that happens and the Ravens were unable to re-sign him, that would mean they rented him for 12 games for a 4th and a 5th.

Regardless, I don't get why the Jags allowed this trade. They had 2 quality T's. Stoopid.

I lived down there when they drafted him and his first couple of years, he's not that good.  Your right he hasn't missed many games, but that is a far cry from being good.  There were thoughts in his 2/3/4th years, that he wasn't a LT, and actually got moved to RT during that time.  One of the only reasons he didn't get benched was because their depth was horrible, and they were paying him top 10 $$$$.

It may be that the Jags know that unless they franchise him for uber-money for one year that they're never going to get him to come back there.

Would you want to play for that hot mess when you can get good money somewhere else?

My guess is they thought the picks they got can not only be used next year, but that they're better than the one pick they would've gotten in 2015.  When you're as bereft of tallant as that horrible team is, you may as well load up on picks and try to restock.

I'm not saying it's therefore a good move, but that may be what they're thinking.

And yet he only cost BAL a 4th and 5th in '14? I'm not buying what ESPN is selling about him being so underrated. There are almost 4 weeks until the trade deadline, certainly there would be more demand come later this month.

Jacksonville unloads his pre-rookie cap salary ($3.8 million base) and drafted Joeckel to replace him at a much cheaper cost in April. The projected available LTs in free agency are Brandon Albert (the guy who Monroe kept at LG in college and had a cheaper replacement drafted in April (Fischer)), Michael Oher (whom Baltimore has given three shots at LT and moved back to the right side each time) and Jared Velheer (Out for season with Raiders).
