Was at the game today and am not going to post my thoughts on anything until tomorrow except I've got to ask those who watched it on TV, was Jake Ryan really as bad as he looked to those of us sitting near midfield behind the Packer bench?

I mean the way Cardinals rookie RB David Johnson ran by him, shed his tackles, and faked him out of his jock (on a play down by the 15-yard line), it looked like A.J. Hawk on one his worst days. I also saw Ryan just getting swallowed up by Cardinal lineman over and over again.

Overall, the D was not terrible today and not the primary reason we lost, but Ryan's poor play really stood out and if he looks this unathletic as a rookie, I have serious doubts if he is ever going to be one of the answers at ILBer.

Then again, perhaps I was seeing things that were not really there during the most craptastic Packer game I've ever attended -- and that includes the playoff loss in S.F. after the 98' season, so let me know of Jake looked as bad as I thought he did.

Based on what I saw he'll probably want to burn the tape. Looked like a slower version of Hawk and that's not a good thing.

Ryan didn't know where the ball was half of the time. The same thing happens when Nate Palmer plays ILB. Is this a coaching problem, or what? Ryan was out played at every turn by RB D. Johnson. I think Matthews inside would have had better luck stopping the Cards' running game. Hindsight being the best sight and all.

D looked good 1st qtr and much of the 2nd... getting gassed from the offensive ineptitude made them all look slow as the game wore on.

The Daniels INT, then Rodgers EZ INT that ARI converted to 7 was the back breaker. The Starks fumble to start the 3rd was just icing on the cookies.

It seems all the ILBs we have had except for Bishop and Clay have all played the exact same way...read/react, don't attack, tackle 5 yards down field, etc. I'm guessing it's a Winston Moss issue, but who knows. Could be that's the kind of ILB Capers wants. Could be the kind of ILB that TT wants. I would be okay if we had an ILB like Clay who attacked all the team, even if he doesn't make the play every time. If you're gonna miss, miss big. All these guys seem to not only miss, but miss even when they're standing there waiting for the ball carrier to come to them. An attacking ILB who can hit would make a huge difference on this team.

I get the bad feeling they're going to pencil in 58 and 47 as starters going into the draft. TT has shown a propensity for drafting and sticking with low round ILB.

Yes, a horrible showing. No speed and no instinct, but he is assignment sure! A real coach on the field. Am I right or am I right, guys?

We are so desperate for playmakers / impact players on both sides of the ball.

I don't know, he's not the playmaker you could use at that spot, but davide johnson could outrun 95% of the safeties in the nfl, he good. this is ryan's like what, 3rd entire game? I allow for slack, he was not the entire problem on sun.
