Jones sees change ahead for Packers

Coming off arguably his best campaign, leading the NFL with 14 touchdowns catches, Jones is entering the final season of his current contract. He said he is not concerned about playing this season without a new deal already done, and says he does not know of any work being done on a contract.

“Nothing that I know of yet,” said Jones. “But I'm not really worried about it, I told my wife I wasn't talking about no contract, I'm just going to play football, because that's how I started in Pop Warner, I wasn't worried about money. Just going out playing, that's where I'm at.”

Jones also will be seeing some new faces, and missing some familiar ones, in the receivers’ room. Longtime Packers Greg Jennings and Donald Driver are gone, leaving Jones the longest tenured pass-catcher on the team.

“I'm the old dude in there now,” said Jones. “The leadership role is on me and Jordy [Nelson]. We stepped up last year when Greg and Donald were down. Donald wasn't playing that much, so we stepped up in the leadership role, so it'll be kind of the same thing.” continue
If he keeps playing the way he did last year the Packers may make an offer early in the season.
