Also, the article basically implies that Giannis may be enough to keep Jason Kidd around a long time. Giannis is like having Aaron Rodgers. As long as he plays, you can't really win less than 40-45 games a year. Although the Jason Kidd comparison to MM is not fair to MM - who I still think is a top 10 NFL coach who just needs a DC that has adjusted to the NFL game of this century. Jason Kidd is more like Ray Rhodes - completely overmatched but with the equivalent of Brett Favre in 1999 to bail him out enough to make him look competent.

I wonder what ownership really thinks of Kidd now that they've seen him in action for an extended period.  Evidence  is mounting with his inexplicable lineups, bush league defensive scheme, and game time decisions. Saw the intentional free throw miss live....I make no claims to be a basketball wiz, but not wanting to go up by 4 with 1.9 seconds left had me stammering.  Would have been funny if Middleton would have ignored him like Giannis did last year. 

Kidd needs to go. Any one of us could coach that team once Parker comes back.

They're going to be a handful for any team in the East once Parker returns.

Assuming they don't keep playing a defensive scheme that seems to be designed to let the opposing team shoot as many wide open corner 3s as possible. 

Giannis a a DPOY candidate if he played in a different system.  Brogdon and Middleton are good defenders. Bledsoe is a very good on ball defender. Henson is  a good help defender (even if he struggles with big post guys). Just like the Packers defense, the parts are greater than the sum. 

Does anyone think the Bucks are a fringe playoff team if Steve Kerr is HC? Or would they be top 2-3 in the East?

Bucks are #1 in defending fast break points. 

Time for Kidd to start earning his paycheck. 

Jason Kidd understands more than most what being an NBA players is about. He has a lot of credibility in that regard- and you can definitely see he wields that with these young players. 

But he has absolutely has no idea how to coach. Strategically he’s completely overmatched. He doesn’t understand how to prepare his team for their opponent. 

Steve Kerr doesn’t understand the game any better than Kidd does, but that doesn’t mean he is on equal footing as a coach. And unfortunately for the Bucks, Kidd didn’t have some time under one of the game’s greatest coaches to learn how...

Another night against a bad team, another loss. The Bulls shoot 20 more shots in the game than the Bucks because they gave up 15 offensive boards (to 4) and turned the ball over 20 Times (to 7). 

Post game Kidd says they don’t know how to rebound and that’s just who they are. Nice...

December was the month they were supposed to make hay and they are basically .500 with several losses against bad teams including 2 against the crap Bulls at home. 

Their next 7 games are against really good opponents so either they will step forward and play better or take a dump which is possible given the level of competiton. 

They have to make a move to shore up the rebounding:

Yeah, looks like he's pushing the blame. Premadonna's and bad teammates might do that in today's crappy sports world, but grown-ups and good coaches don't.

Interesting that Kidd is finally starting to figure out how to use Delladova and Brogdon and it's paying off.

I haven't been an NBA fan for many, many years.  But I keep a distant eye on the Bucks.  They have floundered for season after season. 

Could never understand why they hired Kidd in the first place???   Then this season was supposed to be a breakout year.  But not so.  Listening to the callers on WTMJ last week, I am not surprised that Kidd is gone.  Just hoping they find a decent guy to step in an get this team back to respectable b-ball and winning.

It won’t take much... someone who knows how to set a lineup and create a logical rotation that will allow for adequate rest and continuity would be a great start. 

Many NBA offenses are designed to put great shooters in position to make corner 3s (the shortest 3 point shot). Kidd's defensive scheme's weakness was that if it didn't create a turnover off the initial trap then it lead to a lot of wide open corner 3s. It never made a lot of sense. 

Just change the defensive scheme and that should be worth an extra 4-5 wins over the course of a year. It will be interesting to see how long it takes to adjust to the new schemes.

Quit trying to bring in anyone that has a NY connection.  Hire the most qualified people!! 

They need someone young, energetic, can relate to the players (Hey, That's Jason Kidd) & oh yeah, can actually COACH! with proper rotation & rest for the stars

Prunty for the rest of the season and a summer time decision. 

Blatt, Messina, Tizdale, or Tony Bennett would be much better than a goof like JVG.

As it was being explained on the Bucks in Six podcast, it isn’t Kidd’s defense. It’s Sweeney’s. If this is true, Kidd ain’t the only problem. 2 assistants were already dumped today- we’ll see what else is coming. 

But its Kidd’s offense. We’ll see what Prouty does... the Suns’ Gs suck, and they couldn’t make a shot. They attacked over and over, got to the line 37 times. If Brogdon goes on a tear the next few games, we’ll maybe get a glimpse of more of the issues with Kidd’s offense. 

It’ll be interesting to see how much dirt surfaces. Some already starting...

Man, there is some damning stuff in there.  Such as:

I remember one game at the Bradley Center where I asked an NBA advance scout where he would rank Kidd among the 30 head coaches in the NBA. The scout said Kidd was the worst.

Most of the NBA players are still very, very young. Liking a coach has little to do about the coaches ability to make them better or get them to a title. Conversely, disliking a coach has little to do about the coaches ability to make them better or get them to a title.
