Jackie Bradley Jr will most likely return to the Brewers next season while Avisial Garcia tests free agency. JBJ has a $9.5 million option for 2022. Garcia initially had a club option for 2022 but it converted to a mutual option based on playing time and performance.

Wish it was the other way around.
Just seemed like JBJ lost some bat speed so he couldnβt catch up with fastballs. That had him flailing around at off speed stuff, which made it worse. He needs to just become a 3TO guy. Hit the weights heard, give yourself a chance on the fastball. Has has enough popβ¦ just get stronger and shorten the stroke and his defense becomes a real asset.
Garcia was a mixed bag for me. He was awful in the field at times. Had some hot streaks. Really wish one of these kids could come up and own RF. Taylor, Petersen, Weidmer, whoeverβ¦
Avisail Garcia to the Marlins for 53 million over 4 years.
As of now, the outfield is JBJ, Yelich, Cain, and Tyrone Taylor. Pretty underwhelming.
Good for Garcia. To be honest, I'm glad Milwaukee doesn't have him for 4 years for that much coin (and I don't really think it is an outlandish contract).

Baseball is funny that way
Forget about the NYM offering Scherzer 130MM but the effing Marlins paying GarcΓa almost 15MM a year makes no sense. Thatβs not a hitter friendly park.

Yeah, I wasn't impressed with Garcia's play in the last month of the season. When he was hot, he was as good as anyone. He wasn't hot, at all, down the stretch, it seemed.

Well. Taylor is (hopefully) ascending, JBJ has had too good a MLB career to repeat his Mendoza-like numbers and letβs face it, as Yelich goes, so will go the offense. Cain just needs to not run into walls.
Iβm good with that.
Glad they got ris of that $17 million JBJ contract. I think Renfroe has 2 years of team control remaining too.
Stearns doing his thing
Bradley Jr flip him sweet
Renfroe is better in the field, and he hit more HRs last year than any Brewer. I like it.
Wasnβt JBJ a Gold Glover a couple years ago? Irregardless (TM), he was a fail , so good move. Plus, Renfroe can return punts. π
I think he means better than Garcia.
Brad Boxberger signs a 1 year contract with the Brewers. He lead the team in appearances last season with 71. Also has a club option for 2023.
Inning eater.
Cutchβs bat would have been great last year
Brewers sign Andrew McCutchen to a 1 year deal pending passing physical. He will most likely DH against lefties and spell Yelich against certain left handed pitchers. Last season with the Phillies mcCutchen slashed .293/.405/.622 with 15 homers.
