But this must mean that Finley is bye bye, since TT tends to let players play out their deals and then not attempt to re-sign them if he views them expendable. If you're not approached ahead of time, you're not getting a deal. That's also been his MO.

What could have been.
@AdamSchefter: Not that it's a big surprise, not that a different result was expected, but former Packers TE Jermichael Finley officially has retired.
Was out of this world in 2009. Following injuries was starting to regain his old form again just before the neck injury. Here's hoping he grows up some day and continues in good health.
Forever grateful to have had the opportunity to play for the best organization, w/ the best coaching staff in the National Football League..

Not surprising. Curious to see if he'll collect on his insurance policy. I remember someone (maybe Brandt?) wrote an article awhile back on the difficulty of collecting on career ending injury policies. And if memory serves, Finley had a big one.
And while many disliked Finley, I don't think he was a bad dude or a lockerroom cancer. I just think he was cursed with an inability to think before he spoke, resulting in a lot of stupid sh*t that rubbed people the wrong way. I wish him the best in retirement.
He could be a such a beast. He was also a heartbreaker at times. Make the difficult plays looks easy and drop balls that seemed like they should have been easy. I know it hurt him bad to not contribute to the Super Bowl victory.
Glad he was able to get out without causing any permanent damage.
Wish you well in your future endeavors Jermichael.
All he needed was maturity, and perhaps he has that now. All the best in whatever career you choose next, JMike.
I heard he is retiring because he is fat
Big boned.
Insurance check phat!
