Oscar-winner for Alfred Hitchcock's Suspicion dies at 96


I have to admit that Suspicion isn't my favorrite movie, largely because the producers had a conniption fit over the original ending and forced Alfred Hitchcock to change it into something more palatable for a general audience.

Besides, Fontaine starred in another Hitchcock movie that's even better, Rebecca:



Here she is with Laurence Olivier, whom she meets on the French Riviera, eventually becoming his second wife.  However, the maid (Judith Anderson) is more devoted to the first wife, and tries to make life hell for Fontaine:



Fontaine was also the sister of Olivia de Havilland who as of this morning was still alive at the age of 97 and living in Paris.
