"I've got bigger issues than looking for more money."

"During Nelson's breakout 2011, he became one of the top deep threats in the NFL. In addition to Nelson's 15 TDs, he averaged 18.6 yards per catch, which ranked No. 2 among players with 50 catches."

Just have to give this guy some props and GB front office for taking him over DeSean Jackson

---------------------------------------------------------

DeSean says:

"Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson told ESPN's Lisa Salters that he didn't give a full effort last season because he didn't want to get injured before signing a new contract."

"When asked about instances when his effort was questioned, Jackson said: "I let it get to me, even though I tried not to let it. I was trying to protect myself from getting hurt -- now I'm just giving it all."

Nelson gets it: no player is worth as much money as those guys make. I also like his attitude of "you gotta be okay with it" no matter what happens. He's vastly underpaid, and yet he's okay with that. I don't think you'll see him cop an attitude like DeSean -- ever. Could end up being one of TT's best picks.
Could be? Jordy is one of many ridiculous picks TT has made. I love me some Jordy. Know how he spends most of his off-seasons? He goes back to Kansas and works on the farm. Pretty sure you won't find too many NFL millionaires doing stuff like that.
.

"Pro Football Focus listed Nelson as the NFL's seventh-best receiver in 2011 and the 53rd best player. That was higher than every Packer except Aaron Rodgers (No. 1) and Clay Matthews (No. 38)."

There's 3 pretty good draft picks right there....

Not to defense De$ean Jackson, because I think he's a turd, however, one's perspective on the importance of money is usually shaped by your experiences as a youth. De$ean grew up in Long Beach, CA...and not the affluent section...the part with all the Section 8 housing. I am guessing Jordy probably had quite a different upbringing, never went hungry, etc.

Based on his experiences, money is primarily what is important to De$ean. He's not unique in that sentiment. And yes, there are plenty of upper-middle class white kids who are greedy as hell, and all they care about is money as well.
It's important to keep in mind DeSean needed the big payday becasue he was essentially broke before signing his new contract.

He's the same guy that blew $25k at a nightclub last year in support of his fledgling rap label.

He wasn't protecting himself becasue he wanted big money. He did it becasue he needed big money. And if that meant he had to half ass it to ensure he received that contract to support his spending, then so be it.

To me that makes him an even bigger POS.
It's easy to say those things when you are not in that position. If you had MILLIONS of dollars on the line, it just MIGHT affect your thinking.. To say that without a doubt is being naive in my opinion.. You hope it wouldn't, but there are a lot of variables involved and you never know.

Also, it is human nature to look out for yourself first.. You Republicans can read some Ayn Rand and feel good about Ryan and Jackson if that helps you understand.
DeSean could have manned up and held out if he felt he deserved a new contract. Only he really couldn't becasue he was going broke. So he took the path of least resistance.

In the meantime, here's some good reading....

DeSeans bar bill after 17 minutes at The Colony.

and...

DeSeans tweet about rolling past $10k after 17 minutes on his way to a cool $25k.

Plenty of people have done fine looking out for themselves while avoiding being a complete pile of trash.

For a Magnum, 1.75 Liter.. Your not paying for the bottle as much as you are the table to sit down at.

Yes, if Wikipedia is to be believed.

(I don't like carbonation, so I don't drink carbonated beverages and don't know much about sparkling wines. I'd never heard of the stuff before last night.)

Then I'll drink standing up, thank you very much.

And I don't care if it's a magnum; for $850 I'd like a Nebuchadnezzar of vodka. Not that I'm going to drink it all in one session, though.
