I knew he wasn't serious, but was not clever enough to come up with a suitable response.

My user name is a bastardization of a character's name in a short story I read years ago. I honestly can't remember the name of the story. At any rate, it's been a convenient user name to use for online accounts since it's always available.

As to the subject at hand, I imagine JSO will come up with a better way to implement their access restrictions soon enough. If not, they can add to their cash flow by firing their entire IT dept since they don't seem to be doing anything anyway.
It's inevitable. I would think all news-type sites with any kind of staff will eventually have to go with some kind of subscription model, and I'm fine with that.

JSO finally replied to my request for assistance in converting my current Packers Insider subscription. They informed me that they have no record of any Packers Insider subscriber with my name, address, phone number or email. I responded by attaching the digital receipt of my annual Packers Insider renewal which happens to show the exact name, address, phone number and email they claim to have no record of.

The hits just keep on coming.

Now might be time to share this---I canceled Packer Insider 4 years ago---yet still could log-in to read articles for four years. It took several e-mails and calls to cancel originally. JS customer service is inept, indifferent and about as "service" oriented as the IRS. I signed-up for the on-line two weeks ago, requested verification a week ago and am yet to hear back after two e-mails. Forget about getting through on the phone.. I think the Packers must have out-sourced the stock sales certificates to one of their divisons.
