Just got back from seeing Judas Priest at the Taste Of Minnesota ($10.00 admission thank you very much). All I can say is, if you have the opportunity, check them out. The musicianship was as tight as you would expect it to be, but Halford's voice stole the show. He sounded almost as good as he did in the '80's. Not bad for a 58 year old. They played the entire "British Steel" album to start the show. Definitely worth checking out.

Whitesnake opened, and all I can say is it's time for Coverdale to hang it up. He can't hit the high notes anymore, and has to resort to screaming, at times sounding like Phil Anselmo. Too bad, cause I like Whitesnake, but this performance was a disappointment.

I just saw them both up at Moondance Jam.

Priest sounded very good, but were kind of a lame stage show. Tipton and Downing were what I expected, but Halford wasn't moving much. He'd take a step here-and-there but just kind of stood around.

Whitesnake put on a GREAT show, although Coverdale's voice is nearly shot. Still, he worked the stage and the crowd well and Reb Beach and the rest of the backing band were very tight.

Reb Beach and Doug Aldrich are the best guitar duo in rock and roll right now. I thought Coverdale's voice sounded really good last time I saw him 2 years ago, and the new CD is solid! Best since 87 if you don't include the Blues effort with Adrian Vandenberg and Denny Carmassi a few years ago (Restless Heart?).

Been a long time fan of Reb Beach. I tried so hard to get his tapping down. He's so clean!

Man, too bad Frowner

Think I'll pop on some live Burn with DP. Coverdale and Glen Hughes (listen to those high notes, holy ****!), with Ritchie Blackmore. Maybe the greatest front three in rock and roll history (right up there with Zep in their prime for sure!)

Here's a video of Whitesnake from that night. Judge for yourself.
