I just spent part of the weekend re-watching this series. 20 years later it still is fantastic.

From a military history perspective, it's actually kind of depressing. With any capable Union general, that war may have been over in 1863, if not earlier. Although Robert E. Lee certainly would of whooped the North good if he had been on an equal footing in terms of men and resources.

I added it to the Netflix que a couple of weeks ago after my wife got some free sheet music from our kids piano teacher.

She was looking through the music and playing bits and pieces of it and she came across Askoken Farewell and played some of it and it drove me crazy trying to remember what that music was from...then I remembered it was from Ken Burns' Civil War and I thought, I should watch that again.
