Much better tackling IMO is the major cause. A lot less whiffs by the d'backs for one thing. And I hate to say it cause he is one my favorite Packers of all time but.....Woody not on the field is sometimes 2 penalties or so less a game. Those penalties usually resulted in a 1st down thus keeping the D on the feild longer thus allowing a few more scores.
They have been exceptional against poor QB's this year. If this team meets up with a sound QB, I hope the pass rush can really step up.
The "communication errors" that were so frequent the last few seasons have dramatically decreased. There's a few now and then though... last week there was a guy running down the field wide open and the QB under-threw it.
Maybe Peprah and Bush were a factor? Pat Lee?
Who cares? The fact of the matter is they've still given up points this season. Anyone who's ever been in the chat room can attest to this. Fire Capers.
I think part of it is the young guys having a chance to spread their wings without Woodson on the field. With him there's 10 guys in a play and him freelancing within the scheme (which he's very good at). Without him it's easier for all 11 to be on the same page and lock down their assignments.

I really think we should put the db's on an island. Every one go man to man. Assign on person to do nothing by blitz Ponder. Everyone else, takle Petersen every down, including punts.

...."blown assignments" are way down because we've been playing alot more man-to-man coverage. We're able to do this more with CM coming back & Neal coming on as a pass rusher. However too many times in the Vikings game we rushed 3 (with CM sometimes in the middle?) which made it easy for the Vikes to double CM & Neal. This was very reminiscent of last season. & I for one do not want to see it again this week!

...of course after thinking about this, I wonder if Capers played more zone this last game because Ponder ran for first downs the first time we played them? If everyone is in man, they have their back turned to the QB & he has alot more opportunity to run.
