Bedard writes here that Kuhn called for a different protection scheme on the last play but Bacteria didn't hear it. Bak was supposed to stay on Peppers and leave the inside guy for Kuhn. Bak didn't hear the change, crashed inside and Kuhn recognized it and cut Peppers. If Bak hears the new protection, Rodgers probably stays in the pocket and who knows if he sees Cobb? Such a fine line...

But Kuhn is one smert player!!

Forgot to add that the players talked MM into going for it on that first fourth down...

As a frequent supporter of finding a more versatile 3rd down pass protect replacement for Kuhn, full credit to him for saving the season's bacon.

Good on the players for encouraging MM to go for it and good on MM for not pulling a Sherman with the opportunity. I think at the end of a game the players should have a say about those situations and the smart coach listens.  It's an opportunity to build confidence and trust.

Great point.. I'm still pissed about not running Green on that 4th down.

We all know it would have worked to perfection because of how it worked to perfection at the end of the first half.

(We've been over this game so many times over the past ten years, and I'll just point out again that I would have gone for it in both halves.)

Doesn't look good in his photo.

Game of inches

Cobb just now raising his hand and AROD looking downfield....probably wondering if he can get squared up quick enough and make the throw.

Dream from heaven....Thank you bares...for flushing AROD out of the pocket

By the time the ref would have gotten the  flag out his pocket  Cobb was in the endzone.

But I don't understand all this praise for Kuhn. I read on the innerwebs he was taking up too many cap $$$$ and should have been cut during training camp.  Many didn't even want him on the team this season.  In TT I trust.

Look at the only lineman still holding his block in that last pic -- the rookie, Bacteria. Of course, he's going against a much smaller guy!

Thank goodness the ref let them play on the Boykin score!

Ridiculous that there was no call on that.

Watching game with do.sense of bar fans in a Santa Barbara sports bar, they were all stoked on the play yelling"Blitz him! Blitz him! When it happened and Rodgers made them pay the silence was deafening. Many just left.

Jones' man was the only Bear who understood what had happened. He could have given up the first down to Jones and still would have done the right thing by going after Cobb, although he was late he at least gave it a try. Conte, the guy who let Cobb go, was really the goat.

Well, Conte is a safety so he could have him covering Cobb. But a safety shouldn't get beat deep that late in the game, especially on a fourth down.

Actually, the DC deserves the most heat for calling for the all-out blitz and leaving guys one-on-one with Rodgers at the helm and no deep safety help to prevent what happened in the end. But give credit for Cobb taking advantage of the poor safety play by Conte.
