Figured this should get its own thread.

Bulaga and Murphy (foot) would both be listed as "Did not participate" if Packers would have had practice today. Bak would be listed as limited. Spriggs already on IR.

The Packers may be lining up their 5th and 6th OT to start the game on Thursday.

By the way, who is the back up longsnapper?

They should go for two every chance on Thursday.

GB could potentially have to use their 6th and 7th O-lineman on the depth chart at R&L starting T Thursday night.

Bulaga, Bak, Murphy may not be available. Spriggs and Barclay on IR. Could be McCray and Pankey and then who knows after that if anyone gets hurt. Packers might have to add Amichia to the 53. There's literally no one left.

1. I think you go for 2 every chance you get. If it was the old extra point distance I think you kick the PAT, but the 32 yard XP is not as much of a gimme, and the LS and holder will have had 2 days of practice.

2. How do you possibly prepare a game plan on offense? I think you have to assume you go 2 TEs a lot and max protect. At least Bennett is a good blocking TE. If you still had Lang and Sitton as your OGs, I guess you could try to go smash mouth to protect the tackles, but Taylor and Evans are not the run blockers Sitton and Lang were. I bet we see a lot of max protect and one man routes?

3. This is bad enough, but can you imagine how much worse this would be if they hadn't signed Evans?

4. This takes the screen game out of play. How can you run timing plays like that with guys that haven't practiced it together?

5. They will be potentially be starting a 5th round pick (Linsley), a street free agent (Evans), and 3 UDFAs on the line.

6. I will pledge right now not to complain in any manner about any of the play calls on Thursday evening by MM. I really don't know what they can do to scheme away from this.

7. All of the guys that are going to be out on the OL are less than 26 years old except for Bulaga. They let Sitton and Lang go a year or two early so they didn't run into these types of problems with an aging OL.

Years from now. We will tell our children, grandchildren, and yet unborn grandchildren of the day GB took over the all time head to head series with Chicago with an OL quilt patched together with dryer lint, corn flakes, and drywall spackle.

Eight starters out? Whatever. 5 O lineman that will most likely have never played a snap together? With two days to prepare? Pfffffffffffft.

If this same story hadn't played out so many times over the last decade I'd be worried. That and it's Chicago at Lambeau.

Really don't expect McCarthy to change much.

He may have to for this game. They get Bak, Bulaga, and Cobb back in a few weeks. As long as Rodgers is upright at that point, they are still a threat to get to the post-season and do some damage. He can't expose Rodgers too much. Usually you could cover up some weaknesses by rolling Rodgers out to one side or the other, but you don't even have that option.

How in the world does one team have so many injuries?  it happens so consistently it is baffling to me.  And I honestly am starting to get concerned for Rodgers he is getting hit a lot and is taking sacks at the rate of what 5-6 a game?  No matter how good you are that is going to start to add up.

I think it is not (just) the amount of injuries but the way the fall at particular positions.  Last year they were down 3 CBs much of the season. No running backs until they converted Montgomery.  The 2010 team had a ton of injuries but they were more evenly distributed among positions.  TT builds fairly deep rosters (a benefit of a draft and develop strategy), but it is extremely difficult to play effectively as a team when one or two positions get hit so hard that you are down to 3rd string players and guys you are signing off the street or other team's practice squads.  It is an extremely difficult task and I don't have high expectations for the Bears game, but this is where a good coach will make a difference. (Remember Edelman playing defensive back for the Patriots).

Those who have watched "the 22" aka actual game film of AR have pointed out, like last year and years before that, Aaron is at times responsible for some of these sacks. I believe in week 1 against the Hags, 1/2 the sacks Rodgers had were on him.

Some of this is just him waiting for a WR he's locked on to get open (they didn't). Other times he has ample time to throw but instead of throwing the ball away to live another day, he's taking an unnecessary hit. So while his OL has hardly been ideal through 3 games, at times Rodgers is every bit responsible for the abuse he's getting via sacks.

Has to pass his physical first, no?

AR prefers to wait for his second windows to come open deep but he has shown the ability to take what is there at the top of his progressions as a last resort.  He had to start doing that at the beginning of running the table last year and I think he started doing it in the second half vs. CIN.  He's smart enough to know that with an OL of squaders he's going to have to get the ball out faster.

I fully anticipate MM to develop a game plan that accounts for the injuries.  It will call for Rodgers to get the ball out quick.

Given their injury situation, I hate that the team is being forced to play on short rest.  But if there is a silver lining, it is that we'll have the benefit of a mini-bye after this.

We still have Aaron Rodgers.  They still have Mike Glennon.  It's going to be tough, but I still like our chances.
